hmmm... i have owned most 50s and flown almost all of them trouble is that when im honest about them all i get told im being biased due to my sponsorship.

as i have recently proven i dont fly models i dont like.Trouble is there are a number of sponsored pilots that fly what they are given and fly it because its free and promote it for that reason.

So as a very dedicated Compass flyer who loves the Knight and has done for 18 months, why on earth did you decide to fly a Trex? when you never really liked the 600e, and had never, as far as I know, flown the nitro version?

I wouldnt accuse you of being biased Ade.
I know the knight in your hands is a foremidable combination I've had the pleasure of standing by you whilst flying & can see how good it is.
But then again you could fly my Raptor 50 at my side & I would be equaly impresed.
This is what I was trying to get at in my previous post.
Most pilots on this forum wouldnt be able to out fly the abilities of my Raptor 50 V2 & wouldnt be able to destroy it in the air.
I honestlly believe the Raptor is the best Heli for a person like myself who's still learning to fly them properly. If I master it to 1/2 of your abilities then I do realise I am going to have to buy some thing better.

whilst to some eyes they may fly the same, when you get your hands on it and actually fly it you can really feel the increase in accuracy, cyclic acceleration, cyclic speed.

                    yes... even you martin ;-)

i can see im gonna have to pay you and pete a visit soon to show you both what i mean.

                      • I'm gradually getting to grips with my raptor (50v2) and its going fairly well. however it does seem to have a phase error that makes it pull up to left. I'm pretty sure its not me on the sticks becuase my squirrelly little 450 bitsa pulls up straight. Is the raptor50 known for having a phase error in that direction?
So although my aeros are mainly fixed wing style aeros I'm starting to see that the std head might have some issues.

Something that Nutz has used is that for the raptor there are so many non TT spares available, many of which are cheaper and bettrter than the original parts. This is something that only happens with the most numerous designs and is definitely something in the raptor's favour.
so probably everything you didn't like on a raptor is curable by fitting aftermarket oem upgrades that in a lot of cases are cheaper then the original parts.
It'll be a while before that is possible with the 600N.

                        As regards Aides move
Coming from the top end of another expensive sport, the best financial deal is not often the best gear for you. I could get a much cheaper hang glider but it wouldn't be as good for me as my Moyes. Its just a pity for me that hang gliding isn't a big enough market for the manufactureres to be able to offer support to many pilots. for me it is embarassing to admit the list price of my glider is twice that of the almost as good ukranian or USA offering, when I try to say my glider is the best thing to fly.
So Aide is dead right to go back to what he is happy with. It doesn't matter how free/cheap the gear is if you don't enjoy flying it.

                          • Ade - good to have you back on the team again! As far as im concerned that was just a temporary blip in your judgement
As far as Knights v Raptors are concerned im with Ade and really do believe any one who can do more than just hover will see the difference between a knight sport and a raptor, not to mention the knight 3D!!! I used to be a sceadu man and ive flow raptors aswell and can honestly say they just dont compare with the knights, not even close.
Definately agree with the point about weak hirobo frames. They dont just show up in crashes either. You can feel the effect of the frames flexing in flight when you push a sceadu, not to mention the stock head.

That's exactly my experience too...Ade forced me to have a go on the knight, then I went home and brought one and sold the vmax 90, had the sceadu before, fairly nice machine that but it never flew the same again after I forgot I was doing an auto...Couldn't compare the performance of the Knight vs Raptor / Sceadu, even in the hover the Knights feel like a 90 sized machine
