Nothing wrong with knights plastic. Sure the surface finish might not be perfect but its strong and long lasting. The grips on my sport were the first of the new type and are slop free. Cant say the same for others inc the Raptor which wear fast

Then thats good But the Sport and Knight Pro were not when I saw last them.Originally posted by Thomas View PostDisc, that's what I was trying to say - TT stuff is better quality in a few areas, I was talking flying and wether a novice would benifit.
Saying that the parts quality on my 3D was excellent, a vast improvment on the original Pro - just shows that Compass have taken note of people problems and fixed them.
Its good Compass is improving them, but for now you won't see me having one.

My Knight metal tail mount failed, It cost me a set of BBT's a boom and other bits.Originally posted by Raptor50luvver View PostAh but did you have the black tail hub that Compass quickly released just like Thunder Tiger still haven`t
So no My Knight was fixed and sold and since then I have had trouble free flying
Raptor not perfect model
Knights not perfect
T-rex 600N not perfect...
All models have issues just depends what your willing to put up with

Not wanting to bring another model into the discussion but the Sports frames are superior to the Sceadu ones...
Rappy frames may look a bit better finished but the fuel tank still wobbles about in them and eventually leaks
Thunder Tiger have not even modified the canopy mount so it does not fly off into the blades when going backwards, its up to the owner to modify the latch

It it just me, or is the above post hilariously ironic, given the name of the poster?Originally posted by Raptor50luvver View PostThe metal tail servo Knight Pro mount has long since been modified
Hows your tail hub on that Titan?
The Knight Sport is the same spec as the Raptor 50SE but its half the price,,the SE is even dearer than the superior Knight 3d and the new PRO version of the T Rex 600
Admit it,,Thunder Tiger are ripping heli fliers offI've got a perfect flying record - I've not left one up there yet!

I think the point here is that the Raptor is nearly TEN YEARS OLD ,,,and still has faults that Thunder Tiger wont sort, its down to the user to modify or fork out for replacements
Compass and Align are new companies moving fast, there pace of development leaves Thunder Tiger looking pretty shabby on the whole
There are no real issues with the Sport now and its not even a year old,the 3d seems to be bullet proof,Align have issues but they also seem to be on the case

I guess it all comes down to what you want from your heli.
I wanted fuss free flying with minimum stress & maximum choice of retail outlets for my spares so I bought second hand raptor 30's & 50's.
My local shop does the spares & Ive built about 5 of these things now so I know exactly what I'm doing with them, it works for me & I'm flying more than I am repairing or trying to sort out design faults.
Whats the point in having a ferrari if your skills can only handle a robin reliant, anything more would be a waste for me & probably 50 % of the users on this forum.
TT have a very good design in the raptor why would you want to change such a classic model Heli I think there philosphy is spot on.
They designed their own heli rather than ripping off someones elses which in its self is refreshing. They have spent most of their time chasing the future in electric helis a bit like what compass havent done.
Probably because they havent seen anything yet that they like the look of to clone.
The thunder tiger line up also consist of a 30 size a 50 size
a 60 size & a 90 not to mention 3 sizes of electric heli & you reckon they are resting on their laurels? Sitting back raking in the money dont make me laugh. How many helis are there in compass's range?
How many different size helis do they sell.
What about Aligns extensive range?
It realy is a simple case of you pays your money & you takes
your pick guys but dont slate Thunder Tiger for being sucessfull they brought heli flying to the masses & do not deserve some of your negative gibes at them.

Cor, why does every thread involving Ade turn into a Raptor, Trex, Knight love triangle.
Every one has valid points, all 3 helis fly OK, it all depend s what you put into it (servos, gyros, engines) and what you want in return, if you looking to fly like a Master then selecting the right heli is the least of your problems as there are a few to choose from.
I should of flown Robs Knight on Sunday when he offered as I have still yet to have ago of one.
My Raptor is a Nutz spec Raptor, only because I link blinging things out to see what difference they make, so it does not fly like a standard Titan as the tail is a QUK and the head a Kasama and all the other bits are non TT, only the frame, radio tray, fuel tank and a few minor bits are still TT, I have ever had the tank leak and I am still loving it over my Trex600N.
The Trex600N is now run in and set-up, it was bit breezy today for me to give it a proper evaluation but I have had it for a week, done about 10 tanks and only today is the first time I have been able to use the governor due to magnet sensor issues (crap design), there is a few things that I don't like but I still love it as a whole and just need to get into it some more. Out of the 2 today the Raptor had it.Last edited by Nutz; 05-06-2007, 09:25 PM.Raptor 50 V3 Titan
