It's in german but it is fairly straightforward to use. I think it only works with single engined planks with a 2 blade prop. Just feed it a WAV file and align some markers with the left and right mouse buttons and Bob's yer uncle
Hi Leebert, dont you use the software that comes with the camera, i have tried it (not attached to a heli yet) and it seems to work OK, takes a little time to convert the file though.

A friend of mine used to put an ordinary video camera under the seat of his motorbike, and had two very small camera on leads that plugged in via a switch. one mounted in the nose of the front fairing, the other under the tail.

The convertion software that comes with the camera is someone elses rebadged. Unfortunately, whoever rebadged it made it run amazingly slow. I'll try and find the link to the original, it's much much faster.

The waveoscope software is specifically for working out speeds but it uses a sound only wav file although you could extract the audio from a video file if you want. The trouble with that is the sound source needs to move past the recording point to get the doppler effect.

Thanks Leebert, I will try it and see, I have to agree the original takes ages to convert.

What software do you use for working out the speed?

Fixxxer I have the same camera as Leebert. If you follow the link below you can see some inflight footage from my TRex600

Chopper Cam2 and Chopper Cam3 are mine also. I think the quality on YouTube is a little less than the actual video produced, but it gives an idea of what can be achieved with a cheap solution.
Looks like that'll do nicely, as I said I don't want to fork out a lot, I got a 600N to buy once the rush is over

Very nice, and lovely surroundings. I ain't a great lover of mobiles and steer clear of em if possible even tho I have one it's not upto that sort of thing

I have been looking around and saw thos 2.4ghz setups on ebay. Not quite upto that guy in his plank but not as expensive as I though at around £70 quid although it does appear you would need a recorder on the ground. Leeberts still looks like the best so far for money.

If you get a USB wireless camera you can plug it into a laptop, or even PC if you're close enuf.. Presuming you have a laptop, it's cheaper than buying one of those multimedia player/recorders... !!

Know of one that transmits direct to a laptop?? That would be ideal, but I though you needed either a hub, or else, some other connection onto your laptop.
