I was flying using Contest 10 just because it is cheap and because I'm only at the same stage as yourself with a shuttle as well. The members at my club are telling me my engine is running far too lean and getting too hot, but if I use a richer needle setting the engine bogs down and stalls. I have been advised to use duraglo 10 instead. I have now bought Duraglo 15 but I'm yet to try it out.
My first gallon was some kind of 30% mix. Very expensive but it never gave any bother at all. Now I have the Contest 10, I find the heli harder to start and also less reliable.
I'll let you know how I get on with the new fuel whenever the weather clears.Hirobo Shuttle

What ever you do stick with one make of fuel, a lot of our club use optifuel only because one member buys it in by the shed load, me being different I started with rotor rage not cheep at £23 a us gallon not 5 litres but I did switch to coptermix and had a lot of problems with reliability once I switched back to RR all was and still is fine.
You may be able to get a good deal on fuel with a more local shop if you always have a box of 4 gallon bottles at a time.
The bottom line here is stick with what your happy with.
