fuel... percentage

hi all

just a quick one about fuel and what percentage mix to use ?

i am getting a hirobo shuttle with a 36 irvine engine
what fuel mix is best to use ?
i have seen everything from 10% to 30% mixes on offer
any help plz

at the moment i'll be happy with just getting off the ground and hoovering, but i'm not in to 3D flying yet so basically just getting used to it, so just basic flying .... if that makes sense

10 or 15 percent is ample

10% is fine for sport flying and beyond and also less corrosive. Most guys at my club use 10% and one guy flies pretty good 3D with it- if you can use 10 it is significantly cheaper- we tried 10 and 20 side by side in Trex 700s and there was minimal difference for sport and basic 3D.

I have exactly the same set up and I use 12.5% Coolpower, I have to say it runs really well !!

No complaints at all.

As a beginner you'll go through many gallons of fuel, and you'll never notice the difference in nitro content, also as you get better and start doing tricks the low nitro content will help you to get better at collective management.
10 to 15% is enough to get the benefits of smother running, and less of the con's, Price and bearings rusting.

ok thats great guys, now i have searched the great world of the internet, and it seems there are very few places to buy fuel, anyways i find this :- 4 litres of Rapicon 15% Heli Fuel cost is about £24.00 delivered ?
any views on this fuel ?

Rapicon has been good for me and others at my club. You should not be paying £24 for 4 litres. It is out of stock at Rapicon themselves but you should be paying only £16.00 per 4 litres and that price includes delivery. You do normally have to purchase a box of 4 bottles so the total will be £64 delivered.

Its a full 5 litres and not the American gallon.

Optifuel 12% plenty good enough, have been using it for over a year no probs at all.

rapicon is a good fuel.. but as said you should not be paying £24!! do you not have a local model shop??
