Just checked mine again, HS009X, and no issue.

I have been flying for some time with the vibration timer set to on.

I think that is a bit over the top mate! It's far from sh$t, but like many products, has had a few niggles in its first batch.

HH will sort it out, and as for being able to upgrade the software free of charge as well, is great.

Mine is one of the affected batch, it will be sent back to HH, and we all know how good their customer service is.

£300 for a radio that has to go back that has been released world wide lol I have a DX7se that has worked from day 1 , no added updates, no gliches, it works great ! Why would i want a DX8 just becuase it has some additional features ? it wont make my flying any better or improve my crashes etc etc But i certainly wouldnt pay £300 for something that should never have left the factory until it was 100% !

There is nothing wrong with my 17 year old Futaba FF7, but I changed to newer tech by buying a DX7, and like you not a moments problem. The DX8 is in a different league to the 7 as it is communicating back from the model so we have real time info from the model. This has completely changed the basic transmitting box into a 2 way control system, and yes, it should have been sorted before release. But it is out of Spektrums hands if the factory in China cocks up the building of it. Just like Toyota, some things in life need an update, but would you call a Toyota a croc of sh$t?

My DX8 works fine.

I had to send my DX7se back for repair after it failed.

Unfortunately no electronics are perfect unless we would be willing to pay far more for them

Why buy a dx7se over a dx7 or did that improve your flying / crashing
I have no problems with my dx8 and no regrets buying it,
I think the feel of it in the hands is great much nicer thean the dx7,
And I havent had any of these reported problems

Geek, dont know I run an Avant E lol ! Its all getting a bit silly really Im just disspointed they had problems with them and feel sorry for people who have put heli's in due to the timer/vibration problem etc. I would be absolutely wicked if my Avant had gone in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would have been better if HH could better clarify the bulletin as everyone with the dodgy serial no's is going to be on the phone or sending there Tx back possibly un-necessarily.

So HH Uk if your reding this can you clarify please

and my Tx [009x] is not exhibiting the symptom on test. Am I as confident with the DX 8 as I am with my DSX9 ? - categorically NO. I too wish there was a full recall to be certain that there's no chance of it happening downstream. Just my 2p.

That is obviously Horizons preference but personally I don't see how you can not return a radio in one of the faulty batches as even if there is no sign of a problem right now, you don't want to find out that it has happened by losing control in the air ...

Similarly would you buy a 2nd hand radio from one of these batches without asking if it had been fixed?

I think they all need to be returned and sorted out for safety.

Mine will be going back on Monday.

Thought I would ask how did you guys get on with Horizon concerning a radio thats not showing the fault but from the 08/09 batches. What did they have to say about it.

Well mine has developed a very nasty fault. The rudder channel is twitching badly and can be seen doing so in the monitor screen. I used it a week ago and it was fine, then went to use it yesterday and noticed the gyro showing an input and the tail moving randomly on the deck. It;s going back tomorrow, hopefully it wont take them long to sort.
