A little piece of information I was given (may be correct may not be).
I have contacted a local supplier I use for bearings as I need some for my 91engines (and some spares) and asked specifically for phenolic cages.
The reply I got back was interesting, without prompting I was was quoted for carbon steel balls ball bearings with plastic cases, but was advised that these were suitable for fuels up to 5% nitro. percentages above this can cause premature failure (something to do with the nitro content and carbon steel). As I use 20% nitro, it was suggested ceramic or stainless steel bearings.
Having spoken with a few people ceramic seem OK but give no (or very little) warning and therefore result in serious engine failures often terminal.
I am awaiting the details from them now but would be interested if anyone has ever had similar information.
One final point I noted the bearings listed for the OS50 and 55, as I understand it the 55 has more races fitted (9 instead of 8)when supplied from new and therefore is not the same as a 50 bearing
