I'm using a revlock 10 and have a revlock 30 I have not yet installed in a heli. The 10 works great and I have had no problems with it.

I have several CSM gyros and I am currently using a 420 in one heli and have just fitted a 540 to another heli. My very first heli is a 3DX 450 with a CSM HLG 200 lightweight version without the case.

I also have a 560 that I have not used yet.

I'm optimistic about the 540 even though it's not the latest and greatest because if it's better than the 420 it will do the job.

I have two 360s in the black cases but have not used them (one came with a Robbe airframe).

    I am not sponsored.

All my 4 helis, 450, 500 and two 600s have SL720 gyros. Previously I used a big old SL560 that on the used raptor I bought and that was good too. The only other gyro I've used is a 401 that was on my 450, and one of my .50s for a while. It was really noticable that the 450 was whippy in the wind - even the SL560 was far better.

The 720 is not really over large, its just the cable exit would be better on the end rather than on the top. The main issue is space under canopies and the vertical exit wires rub on the canopy - particuarly the fat booted cable on a BLS251.
That would be a fairly easy mod to achieve - just a revised top case and a 90 degree header on the same PCB.
I think they should stick with the plug in wires rather than flying leads.

One of my 600s has a revlock20, the other the align governor. The revlock holds the rpm a little better than the align which does allow the motor to over rev a little occasionally, but from time to time the revlock has tended to hunt a bit and needed a tweak on the gain pot.

I've had excellent service from CSM, everything always turned round within a working week and always helpful on the tech help line.

I'm not sponsored in any way.

I am wondering if CSM will develop a competative all in one box flybarless unit? I'm lothe to drop the CSM tail control!

Use the Revlocks and the Cyclock.

Both excellent pieces of kit with even better support available.

Wouldnt mind trying the 720 and the throttle safe at some point.

I've been using a CSM720 gyro in both my Vibe 50 and Vibe 90SG helicopters since I built them and thats a good while ago. Absolutely flawless performance and even though I'm not a sponsored pilot, I wouldn't dream of using anything else at the moment. CSM's customer support is truely superb !!

Up until going to fbl with the BeastX I used the 720. Nothing but confidence in it. Not sponsored.

            Why are you asking?

              Colin Mill writes good articles.

CSM products look really interesting - kind of like the 'advanced' tab in MS Windows.

However, for now, my flying abilities are nowhere near pushing what my Spartan gyros can do. (The Spartans are definitely beginner-friendly. Ade Law told me to buy a DS760...)

If I ever got good enough to need more than the Spartans, I'd definitely look at CSM.

It's good to see two UK companies producing good products.

Im sure you all know there is a finacial situation in the UK at the moment and uk manufacters are all noticing the pinch, the reason for me making this thread is to bring attention to the few UK products we have available.
CSM product moved the barrier with the icg 360 gyro years ago by inventing heading hold and i think uk pilots should try support products that are produced in the uk.
So i personally thank pilots for purchasing csm products.nice one
And sponsored pilots for promoting csm products but with this finacial situation at the moment in the uk your support is needed more than ever.

i would also like to mention nhp blades, give them a try and if you like them support them too

hope you guys dont mind me bringing CSM AND nhp to you attention.

                cheers craig

The only reason that has ever stopped me using CSM gyros before is that they are butt ugly.

                  I know I know

So I'm sure they can make a nicer looking case.

And I have used nhp blades

Perhaps CSM should be doing some marketing then?

Spartan did, and I wonder just how many Quarks they sold when they done the promotios a couple of months ago?

Chances are there are people who bought one at the discounted rate, and now swear by them and will only use Spartan as they know it works.

I have only ever heard about one update from CSM since I have been flying, and that was about their recent ThrottleSafe (which was only because a forum member posted about it).

I agree Paul. I love my 720 and with the current influx of fbl units there seems to be less and less of a market for 2nd hand gyros. CSM should have took the bull by the horn a few years ago when Colin trailed his wooden horse FBL demo around the flyins. He had the initiative then and should have gone for it. Combining arguably the best gyro in the world in to a box with another 2 and somehow including the cycloc and developing the software to something approaching usable CSM would have cleaned up or had such a strong product that it would have been difficult for anyone else to join in.

I don't know if they are developing something but I feel they have missed the boat a bit. Even combining all of their fantastic products into one do all box would have been a starter for 10. Gyro, governor and fuel mix regulation all in one box, now wouldn't that have been worth the money.

I use a CSM 720 on my N5. Works nice, bit on the big side. Think the USB interface is a bit pricey.

                        oh, i'm not sponsored

                          Up to now, i've used a GY401, Align 750, Mini-G and CSM SL720.

Enjoying the 720 and the features it has over some other gyros. Tail holds well in windy conditions and isn't whippy. The Mini-G is on my 450, if the 720 was smaller i would have one on there.
The 720 is fitted to a 700 at the moment. I'm going to try it on the 600, and if its happy, i will be making another purchase to CSM

I've not been arrond flying that long, 3 or 4 years. since I started CSM have released the CL1, the revlock 30 (which conspired with a cL1 to limit collective and prevent your motor bogging), the Carbsmart, the throttle safe and the BEC safe.
but I agree there has been nothing new on the gyros, not even a styling/size change.

I have acquired some NHP aggressors to try as 600D blades seem to have been discontinued in favour of the 'orrible wood core pro ones. Not flown these but they really could do with some finish on them other than plain black carbon. Some fancy go faster strippes and agressive logos do make blades stand out and plain black is hard to see.
