Anyone played the Mass Effect games? They use 'element zero' to create mass effect fields to basically make ships weigh nothing so they can reach FTL travel etc. Pure fiction, but still a great concept in a fantastic game.

Yep played those, and they really changed the face of SP RPG's, almost as much as KOTOR 1&2 did.

I'd be surprised if the Mass Effect series isnt adapted into a movie and/or a TV series at some point, the storyline or something set in the same universe is just perfect for a movie or series.

Edit: just googled it, looks like a Mass Effect movie may be in the works...

Yeah, that could usher in the age of practical luminal velocities, if you could remove all the mass of an object, although that probably wouldnt remove the problem of time dilation at c.

I hope it's not a let down. There are a hand full of films from games that I like: Tomb Raider (obvious reasons), Resident Evil (only the first one) and Silent Hill.

I didnt think it would affect it, just the ability to get to that sort of speed in a conventional way.

If I was God and wanted to Create a planet of hateful spiteful animals that feed off each other then I would have created a small planet with one country a 50 watt bulb for a sun and called it England.......
