Hi all
I went to the field after work today to have a quick fly of my Sceadu but had real problems getting the engine to start. It probably took a good minute or so of cranking over before it eventually fired into life, only to die again when I removed the glow start. I know the TT50 doesn't have a great reputation and I have an OS in my Knight, so the Sceadu is stuck with it! When I eventually got it going it ran fine, although it drank a tank a fuel pretty quickly! When I started it again after refueling I had the same problems. It was dripping fuel out of the exhaust when I was cranking it over, but that could just be because it was taking so long. I didn't have another glow plug with me to try but the panel showed that it was drawing plenty of current. Would a weak glow plug cause difficult starting or would I normally notice other problems? The plug has only been used for about an hours flying. Compression should be good because the engine is very new and has only had half a gallon of fuel through it. Can anybody else think of any other possible causes of my starting problems?
Thanks in advance !!
