Training gear-yes or no?

They make a difference to handling, 4 balls sticking out on rods no matter how little flex will create resonance, maybe not so noticable on a smaller size heli but definately with a nitro. If you have the confidence take em off, as has been said they can aid in sticky landings but i've seen balls catch in holes to costly effect on a number of occasions.

I have just flown without mine today ! used 2 batts with and then the third without.

Scary but makes you concentrate more on the landing and making them controlled too.

Just need to get more airtime and practice now and should be flying good soon.

I never used training gear. But when I've tried a model in Phoenix with it, it sucks - big time. If you can do it without it, and by your post, I think it's safe to say you can, then get rid of it. Your heli will thank you

I got my training gear off my Raptor the other day, after not too many days flying. The guys I was flying with, Del and Andy Linney, assured me that the heli would be totally different without it and that I could manage to fly without it - (else they wouldn't have taken it off). There comes a point when the TG is there as much to keep you in your comfort zone as it is to stop the heli tipping, if not more!

So if your ability is such that you are landing straight then take it off. It makes the heli different to fly and it is great to see it in the air, controlling it yourself and no training gear!

Hi guys was down at the field last night, adieuk was there, so inshowed him what I was like with no tg, he said i'll be fine to leave it off, with just 1 harder land through the wind, was coming down gently in a bit of wind then the wind dropped!! But all was ok,

So all is good and no more tg, got rid of it after 4 batteries
