  • Unable to get solid led on 401

I'm in the process of converting from 35 mhz using a Futaba T7CP to 2.4ghx using a FF7, the TX's are identical, except for a couple if settings the FF7 has like Governor settings & Swash-TH and I have copied the settings over exactly as they are in the T7CP, and all is well except the gyro is not going into HH mode, it's flashing as in rate or normal mode, what's wrong please?

Do you have any trim or sub trim set on the rudder?
    This might explain the flashing.

you tried reversing the channel ??? .. personally I disable the gyro menu and use the endpoints for the gyro as it is easier ...I meant the gyro settings in the tx as in swop them about set both to 50 and then turn it on and try .. if it does it put the switch the other way and try again ... that way you know if it wants swopping

No trim or sub trim set, my tx settings are as per the 35mhz set as:
          Gyro (SW-E)
          UP N 80%
          CT N 77%
          DN N 75%
As setup by a Raptor wizzard I'm told !
Reverse Channels are exactly the same in both TX sets.
          Thanks.

you could disable the gyro menu and use endpoints ... go in parameters and choose which switch you want to use for channel 5 and then go into endpoints and put them both to 50 ... now turn on the set and gyro and see if it goes solid red .. if not reverse the channel and try again ... hope this helps .... I use the FF7 2.4 as well :

Try switching your transmitter on first and move away from your heli leave it about 20sec before you switch your heli on. this is what i have to do using my spektrum dx7, it's somthing to do with the hand shake time. Hope this is of help to you.

move your rudder stick to the left to set the left end points then move it to the right to set the right end points

Thanks Paul, but that only seems to work for some of the channels and it's the aileron stick, and does not work on Ch5 for the Gyro, I'll look at the manual in the morning, unless anyone knows why?

no need to move the sticks .. flick the switch the other way ... any of the switches or sticks to get the endpoint to go to other side is either move it or flick the switch over ... hope this helps

channel 5 is gyro gain and you dont need to set enpoints with your sticks ... if you need help going through it pm me and I will give you my phone number and talk you through it ....

Nigel .. its a futaba system and not a spekky

Did you bind the Tx to the Rx with the gyro switch in heading hold mode? I believe this can make a difference.

Try a re-bind - it may fix it.

The "N" tells me that your Tx is sending rate mode setings. Adjust the Tx values until the "N" changes to "A" which indicates AVCS, now the gyro LED wiill remain solid

Spot on Serpent thanks! Battery on charge then off to test !

So it was really easy in the end after this little problem, (I hope) just copied exactly the settings across from the 35mhz TX, and the head movement looks spot on!

A great couple of flights this morning despite gusting winds, but with a beautiful blue sky it was a delight! All worked as it should and very smoothly too, really pleased! Thanks all for your advice!
