For sale & wanted

I have simply added the "For Sale" section as a separate bookmark on my bookmarks bar. Seeriously, how hard would it get if you guys can go check it 'manually'! - I mean, you don't mind navigating yourself all the way to check the BMFA classifieds page but getting yourself here, troubles???! Just doesn't make sense.

I just bought a 600 and a whole lot of electronics recently through this thread after searching 2 pages down and the whole transaction went so smoothly and yes, I am indeed pleased with my purchase.

Another recent purchase of mine was through the "Wanted" section - an Align Starter. A friend of mine posted on there and I got a response a day later, Payment was made and the stuff was in my hands 2 days down!

I don't see why the section of the forum should be removed and I think it is still serving its purpose, if you are willing to put a slight effort of getting yourself to regularly viewing the posts!

I really preferred it the way it was before (but with the 50 post thing to slow down scammers). Happy to let the originators of each thread delete posts if they wish to prevent the slanging matches which, let's face it, was a fairly rare event.

Bring back the for sale section in all it's former glory!

I think the for sale format should be a one-post only thread - so the seller posts the info and photos etc and only they can edit the post. All trading should then be done by PM. But, without having the threads up on the main board, you have to go look manually, which is a bit pointless to most people. Maybe there could be user switchable panel on the left hand or right hand side of the home page where the for sale threads roll through in a film-credits stylie. Once the deal is done and the item sold, the seller would have to delete the thread, or sign it off somehow so it doesn't appear in the home-page window anymore.

One of the good things about the for sale threads coming up on the main board was that sometimes, if you are in the right place at the right time, you can get a great deal very quickly, but in order for that to happen, the thread has got to pop up in front of you somehow to catch your eye.

I also think that the block ban on the 'wanted' section should be removed back to the way it was - I don't see any advantage in having this off the main board.

The reason it isn't being used is because it's not visible - why would you advertise your wares as a seller behind closed doors?

Bring it back to the front and people will start using it again.
