Changes for selling on RCHA

Hi, Im not a moderator, I havent even been a member for very long, so shoot me down in flames if you dont like my proposal.

I think any posts in the "for sale section" should be locked!
Stuart did recommend that no user should add to for sale threads, it is being totally ignored.
I get a bit fed up reading, "I can vouch for this model, he flies at my club and is a real good guy". Lets be honest, your never going to read, " I have seen this model and its a bag of spanners and the guy selling it is a complete plank". Its all just back slapping.

I realise that this will also end "bumping", well I dont think this is a problem. With the 30 day, 50 post rule, you would have been a forum member long enough to be able to navigate to the forsale section and search for what you are looking for.

All sales will have to be done via PM's.

As I mentioned in another thread, I wondered if there was a way of restricting a thread such that the only person that can post to it is the OP, thus eliminating the ability for third-parties to bump, praise etc.

TBH, I think that the solution is being over-engineered for a fairly simple issue.

Fully support this. However some rules are impossible, or at least very difficult, to enforce.

If the original post is totally locked, how do you amend items, or change price to make it more attractive, let viewers see what has been sold in a multi item sale, and finally place a Sold notice so visitors know they need not apply?

It would also kill off the raffle, which though infrequent, are occasionally good fun.

I don't see why the clear and simple rules cannot be adhered to by all members, but if it is to be locked, it should only be locked to 'others', the Original Poster should be able to add and edit.

hi all how many items are sold in a space of 12 months ! quite a lot how many complaints in 12 months not many not unlike bmfa
peopel complain about for sale anwser (dont read it ) i am quite a new cummer to this site which ithink is great one of the best sites in the world the members are first class at helping out with problems esp too new members who would be lost worst still pack up the hobby all too gethere do we need change if a post comes up do you have keep reading it and adding to it makind it worse why not ignore it all togethere look at more interesting post do we need change do we need more rules for the sake of one stupid post tone

As of the 30th April - if one more issue rises up as far as I'm concerned its the end of buying/selling openly on the forum. I will take the feed from RCHA site only this way I can keep it away from what this place should be all about the hobby and getting on with enjoying it, sharing experiences.

there has been 1 member who has left the forum due to one of his threads getting trashed and now yet another debate on the subject......

For ***** sake, if you have no interest in a FS thread, don't post in it, no matter what your views are on the thread owner.

If you are selling something, a bump every other day is all that is allowed, no more!


Maybe if people followed the rules we wouldn't have to keep reading this s**te!

Between now and 30th a few changes are in motion already guys..

1. NO more replies allowed to FS posts = use PM's only
2. The thread originator can update
3. FS threads will drop off the homepage - if you want it bookmark it or I'll make a link in the quick links for it.
4. Use Class or RCHA or an.other

Patience is something I usually have for most issues - but this one has just ran out...
