Hey Guys

Yep, the offending poster....

Looks like I've stirred up a hornets nest.....sorry!

I was angry, very angry.

I did meant for the thread to be a poll, but submitted the thread incorrectly. The idea was that by viewing the poll, either I would realise that I was being unreasonable, or he was taking the *iss.



As far as the mods etc not liking it, sorry, but if you allow a good seller to be praised then you must allow the same when it goes bad or the good posts are meaningless.


I also think (hope) that my offending thread was not an attack, it was instead offering the facts and for you all to decide (via the poll).

To be totally honest, those that know me will know that if the chap had of said something like, "oh , what can we do about it?" then I would have happily let it go.

It is hard to be wronged and turn the other cheek.



Hey mods: Can I start a poll where no comments can be left?

Something like: Poll: Should the offending post been posted, or should the buyer have just swollowed quietly and let the same thing to another buyer?

Or is that seriously taking the *iss and fuelling the fire?


Somebody else want to start a poll called something like "should we complain about sellers in the same way we can praise them?

Do I feel like a mellon? yes, a bit.
Would I do it again in the same circumstances? yes

I would I've done the same thing Gareth as would have nearly all of us so not to worry.

As for mods not liking it, sorry but as mods it just their job to make sure things stay clean etc and don't get out of hand. Nothin to do weather they like something or not. There opinion in these matters should not come into it when "modding" these matters

I agree 100% with Gareth on this - I don't understand why the mods are getting shirty - do they think its OK to describe something as new when it turns up very much not, and then refuse to refund ? Thats how it comes across to me.

speak for yourself Ben... wouldnt be my course of action until it was the very last resort and i was getting anywhere. ie he didnt accept my calls or reply to my pms/emails. Unfortunately in this case and from what i can see the other party has offered solutions to be thrown back in his face. And thats me sitting in the middle. I can 100% understand Gareth being a bit P****d (i would too) but rational thinking has to come into play at some point.
James there is nothing shirty about it im giving my opinion just like you are. Just because you dont like it doesnt mean you have to drag me into it and make me look like a pratt.
Theres 2 sides to every story here and i bet alot of people are only listening to one side. I can see both remember.

Mine too lee, last resort but as Gareth said he was getting nowhere until it was posted on here..

I have had only good experiences on here, buying and selling, with both Gareth and Pete but sometimes thongs go wrong. Shit happens but worse shit happens at sea.

I think we just all need to be a bit more cautious then these situations should not arise.

first i would like to say the mods have a very differcult (impossible) job to do(and imo do a very good job), yes they have to make sure everything stays clean and legal but they also have to protect the forum and everyone on it and remain impartial in doing so, if they let the thread continue who knows what lasting damage would be done and how far out of hand it would get, so they had to make a decision and imo they made the right one, yes if you have a problem with a sale i have no problems with someone posting it but again imo only after all options have been tried to resolve the problem in private, and i think the poster should it in a manner that is reasonable.
come on guys lets not continue with this ripping into each other now

Thats the first thing anyone on here would do im sure.

Simple phone call to say that the gear didnt arrive in satisfactory condition and we need to come up with a solution because im not happy.

Been said already on this and the original thread.

If both Gareth and Pete forward their phone numbers im happy to phone both guys and help you sort this out. Theres got to be logical explanations for all this and a happy ending for both. If both guys take a small amount of responsibilty then we can call and end to this and just get the main problem sorted out.

Hang on! I DID try and phone him a few times !!!!!!! I have the call log to prove it. I then sent him a PM to say that I had tried calling him and asked him to call me !!!!!!!

Why are you atacking me? If you want to quote from my private PM's to and from him then post ALL of the private PMs.

.....and, where everyone is trying to calm this down, you are starting it all over again.....why?

This is starting to wind me up again.
