Work got in the way of me getting down. Was really looking forward to going. As for the weather and mud, hey, it's a field, it's March and it's Britain. Should come as no surprise. Get on with it and use common sense.

As a current organizer of flyin's I know all too well about how the weather can affect the parking situation especially after the worst winter we have experienced in many years.

I am saddened by the nature of this thread TBH.

I hope neither of these comments were aimed at myself, as I said land owners are a funny lot my suggestion was to protect our venues.

Tim, I totally agree all too often we see threads degenerate to this nature on here, shame

can't see the problem myself... went to charmouth with the missus, the dog and some good friends.. had a whale of a time from friday to monday!
ok, i got stuck on the way out of the field saturday, but some lads pushed the vectra and out it went. Thx guys!
ok, i didn't fly much due to me being dumb and breaking the antenna on my dsx9 getting packed up on saturday morning. but flew a mates 700 and thoroughly enjoyed it.
ok, some scale pilots were slating the 3d flying while i was fuelling my mates 700, but hey, there choice!
ok, i had to wait an hour to get into the caravan, due to a new housekeeper at newlands, no worries, went and took the dog for a run!
ok, the caravan was not the one booked and was smaller, but hey it was warm, dry and comfortable.

My point is,,, there is always something we could gripe about, and some people seem to thrive on it, but if we really think it should be done a better way or that we could do better... then feel free make suggestions to the right people or do it yourself.

P.S just to show my utter dissapointment of the whole weekend, i booked newlands again for October already. :-)

busterboy, this was the first time i have been to any event like this, and it was fantastic imo please don't let this thread put a damper (no pun intended)on the event, i was impressed and enjoyed myself and so did the people i came with, we stayed until around 3 when the mist started to come in (thats not your fault either) . no matter how good any event goes you will ALWAYS get someone find fault with something (if we had a bright sunny day in august, someone would of said the sun spoiled it), if you look at all the threads and posts on charmouth you will see at least 95% ofus thought it was briliant d you guys did a sterling job( someone was even running around with car registration numbers that the police wanted moving).

so i want to thank you personally for a great day and please pass this on to everyone else that helped and gave up there time (especially that burger van)

Now you mention it, at times it was a bit too sunny and I had to wear my sun glasses, now I hated the weekend...

Can’t comment on the conditions however I just watched the post degenerate from the OP, just tried to expand on the point he was trying to make with the intent of raising the tone of the post , however I seem to have gotten shot down in the process.

For clarity I wasn’t trying to detract form the good work these organisers do.

The burger van was great, as always, two feet, in a good pair of walking boots had the field cracked.

Why does it always persist down at weekends ?

The only negative for me was that I didn't go back on Sunday (and missed Mojo!). I had a great time on Saturday catching up with everyone and watching some awesome flying. I even wore my sunglasses most of the afternoon :-)

                      Pointless thread imo.

is there any pics of this yrs event yet apart from a pic of some mud, which is in most fields anywhere in the UK at the mo!?
It's all about the size of your chopper...
