  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOppppppps

Lol, I'm on the ground in stiches. Dumb moment alert.

As some of you know I've been having problems with the Trex450 Sport cutting out midflight, losing all electrics and having one major crash and one fairly low off the ground the did no damage.

So since then I've decided to do some bench tests to see if I can replicate it. With no blades attached I couldn't get the heli to have a failure.
Since then I've moved up to having blades on with a pitch curve of 0-50% and have run the heli at full speed with no failure. So I went for a second go and was coming to the end of the 4.30min timer. As I had my mind on other things instead of just reducing the throttle I thought, sod it I'll hit TH it's easier. Totally forgetting the pitch curve was linear from 0-100%

I was watching the table and the next minute, no heli on the table and a massive BANG. I was like WTF???? Wheres my heli gone. I'm still not sure where it landed but it appears OK as it hit purely on the head button.
I'll have to check the trueness of the main and feathering shaft but the remainder of the heli looks fine.

Flat ceiling isn't looking the best and I bet I ****ed the neighbours off upstairs

My neighbours were so close to almost having a heli in their bedroom/living room

oooooh new pants for Darrylclaasic mate

when i first started i did something similar with a minipred
. i couldn't resist spooling it up in the living room.just to get it light on the skids of course!!!! well it spooled up but no lift and i soon had it flat out on the floor.puzzled as to why it wasn't even attempting to lift off,and instead of shutting it down and reading the manual i twiddled the knob on top of the tx. and WHAM it was suddenly hovering against the ceiling. it left a perfect hole where the head hit and circle where the blades had scrubbed. it stuck there for what seemed like 2/3 days which im sure was only 2/3 seconds then i cut the throttle and it destroyed its self on the way back to the floor!!

reason was the pitch servo was sticking and id twiidled the pitch hover trim which must of being just enough to free it off!!

There is a slight indentation on the ceiling which can be repaired with a light skim but definately needs a paint

I bet that is the closest to a ceiling fan you have ever had in your flat.

                    Take it easy!

Should be fine I just spooled it up and there seems to be a bit of vertical play in the main shaft as I can see the main gear moving up and down on the pinion. Think it could just be the collet at the top of the frame that has loosened up.

Not sure if I'll need new bearings but should be able to get some before the Calshot meet. Probably end up flying with my CF blades as these GF ones that I got from HK are shit. Way too thick for the blade grips and look like they're hand painted
