Someone on another forum suggested only using one of these (normal linkage the other side) which is genius - firstly it halves the cost, secondly if the linkage slips it will be very obvious as tracking will be out.

I only ever adjust tracking on one blade anway (I mark a blade grip and use marked grip with red blade to setup pitch, then adjust green blade for tracking) !

I have these turnbuckles on my 450 pro and 250 so will refit one of the std links to both next time I am messing about with the heads.

Just to add another bit - one one the links has clockwise thread and the second one has anticlockwise thread. Trillian is right - the middle bit does not extend.

If I remember correctly, the ball-links have only one side that push fits so there is a built-in locking mechanism unlike Align's ones.

I have logged about 1 hour flight time in my Pro but pitch has not changed. So I presume the link does not self-rotate during flights. some of the members seems to confirm this as well.

BTW, Align Pro is a brilliant heli - so stable, smooth and even I can fly! Only gripe if I have any, then it is like a puppy - wants to get away from me at the slight touch of throttle. Needs to send it away to some training classes

I cant see them unscrewing as they thread into plastic and are pretty snug to turn. If they did surely tracking would be off and this would be very obvious, I check tracking every flight so would very quickly notice if this went out. Certainly I have them on the 450 for about 10 flights and no issue, and 250 has about 6 flights with no issue, but will keep an eye on this over time.

I assume full size aircraft turnbuckles are metal into metal, so without some kind of locking would unscrew - also obviously any risk no matter how small this could happen would be unacceptable.

I found the ball ends on the 250 kit looked very weak, so used the align kit ones (fresh ones so they had no pre-cut thread).

The 450 ball ends seem fine, so I've used them, they are much more 'sided' than the align ones (which you can fairly easily pop on with A inwards if your an align blasphemer like me), and fit very positively.

X-Cell used them years ago and they are also used on the Kasama Srimok, only problem is that the threads inthe links are that tight, if you turn the shaft the links pop off the balls.
