  • Lovely weather for flying ;)

What a lovely morning flying. Loosened up the belt and got both of my packs charged (so need some more) and took it out to the local field. Took her up and tested how the belt seemed. At the moment I can push it into the center with a bit of force. Anything past the center requires a lot of pressure. Might be a little on the slack side but a lot better than the guitar string tension I had on it before

Put her through a few piros both left and right. I have a tendency to only do right hand piros, for some reason it feels more natural. Managed to get through about 10 of them with out stacking. Landed and tried the other battery, this time trying a bit of nose in flying. Well it started to gain speed backwards and was getting quite low so gave it a bit of collective. Then managed to get it flying towards me and over the top, started gaining a lot of altitude (must of been flying into the wind). Brought her back under control and managed to fly a few side on hovers. Attemped another nose in flying but noticed a funny rattling noise so switched back to tail in hovering close to me but couldn't notice it. Not sure if it was some external noise as there was people with dogs approaching where I was flying. After that I packed up and went home. Might see if I can give her another go later on.

Batteries were still slightly on the warm side so might try adjusting the meshing even more.

Good progress Darryl, well done mate!

I wish I could fly today as I want to maiden the 500 but I have a feeling work will get in the way. Perhaps I might just be able to get in one small flight later this afternoon....

                Cheers

Just charged the Align 3s 25c 2150mAh and surprisingly after a 5min flight (think I went past the 4.30min countdown as it read: UP 25-30sec) the battery charge was 1800units instead of the usual 2000units which is probably about the correct amount I want to be discharging. I might not adjust the meshing and see how another flight goes a little later on.

It's a beatiful, sunny and calm day here but my 450 Pro isn't ready - off to B&Q to get a Dremel unit to saw off a couple of cheese-screws. Hoping to go flying if I can get it sorted today.

Don't worry, - haven't even flown it properly and I have already stocked up on spares - now that's sad....

                        cheers,

Sun is out and not a rain cloud to be seen in Hampton the skys are blue and no wind. Just ran the Raptor V2 up in the garden after a few problems. Nothing better than the smell of burn nitro on a sunny day.

Please mother nature I have a few weekends off, a raptor and two gallons of optifuel to play with. Let the sun shine all week.

Lovely day here to, still of work with a slipped disc so I hobbled over to the local park and got a couple of packs through the Trex.
Such a relief to get it up in the air again, haven't been out since I maidened her which seems like ages ago. and I must say I was shakin' the whole time through both packs but at least she stayed up for a full 5 mins both times.
So had to get a couple of more Lipo's ordered for the rest of the week.

                            Chris
                            Cheers
