    Kev.

I can see why a foward flip would be safer than a backwards flip because if you give to much neg on a backwards flip you can start coming towards yourself & maybe above your head
Yes the big sigpic is coming back

      .
Or with too much neggy you can almost land on the ceiling if flying indoors
      Cough cough.

I've not tried forward flips all the way round - going to have a go next time I get out there for a flight.

Rebuilt yet Simon, or more DIY this weekend?

Yes - had my fill of celings..... its re-built but I've got some bad vibration, I think it might be the main bearings so I will change them out tomorrow and re-try. Have not had any more time today as I'm building an additional web site for my business (new products), oh yes and I had to unblock some drains
Oh what a fun life we lead...

        Cheers
        Simon

Sorry it didnt go so well but you tried!!....... Did you give a bit of + pitch first to start it off? You ahouldnt need to much pos or neg pitch really to make it go over. Depending on how the heli is set up some will flip quicker than others.

My tips to get it are.....
Fly the heli away from you tail first
Start with the heli quite low, Go forward and build up some speed
as the heli picks up speed, pull back as in a stall turn or loop
As the heli gets vertical pull back more on the cyclic and lower the collective
As it goes over and gets right way up put back a pos pitch.

Why did i do it like this? Well tail in for a start, even if you are happy side in is still better, and for each new trick i try i try to remove as many variables as i can.
A heli in ff is easer to manage than one in the hover as it will weather vane a bit and pulling up into a loop will give you good hight. Have a look at "My first loop" on my youtube vids, and you will see how i progressed into a flip from my first loop attempt (really need to get some better vids - getting quite good at em now!).
Doing it this way will help to learn collective management ( if the tail blows out your yanking to hard too quick on the sticks) and timing and you may have a better chance at recovery from ff.

Only other advice i can give is to try and get a video and after study it to see what went wrong.... sometimes it can be an eye opener !!
