  • One of those days....

You know when everything seems to be working against you?

First off flew the turbine N9, no real dramas there (Apart from me forgetting to flick idle up, flipping it over and nearly dropping something in my kecks!), in fact thats really starting to come alive now, did some reasonable 3d with it today.

Next flew my N9, was all going great, had an ok flight, and then when i went to fly again, my DX7SE spacked out and refused to let me select that model memory again. It lets me select every other memory, but when i get to no6 for the N9, it freezes the whole tx. Think its somehow corrupted that memory slot, so will get on the phone to horizon tomorrow to see if theres something I can do with it, as I really don't want to send my tx back!

So i setup a new memory for the n9, re-programmed it all, had an awesome flight with it, came in and re-fuelled, and went back out to have one more flight before changing to the new header that RcTintin sent to me (ported and polished), when half way through the flight while doing some very low aileron tic-tocs, it lost quite a bit of power. I thought I had blown a plug, but no. When I landed there was a nasty metallic rattle. Took the Hatori pipe off to find that the front half of the internal baffle has broken at the weld and is rattling around inside. It's only 9 months old, so I've emailed Real Raptors to see what they have to say about it.

Oh and I also found that I had left the mini glow driver attatched for the whole last flight! Though I best get in there with that one before any of my oh so lovely fellow club members come on here and bubble me up for it! Oh, and its not the first time either! Paul Sacko took some awesome photos of the day, and you can clearly see the glow in some of the photos! Had to laugh! Ah well, hopefully next weekend will go better, Shuglu is hopefully popping down for a visit, so fingers crossed everything holds together as it should!

Honestly Jamie, did you really believe even for one minute that if you mentioned it before Paul posted the pic's that you wouldn't get ribbed, nice try

Jamie, know how you feel mate. Sat down last night to rebuild the Logo 400 and broke more things than I fixed (stripped a hitec 85mg trying to screw the horn back on. So it's sitting in disgrace in bits in it's box. This rebuild is the longest I've ever done at about 6 weeks now as whenever I touch it something else breaks. I'm gonna buy shares in fastlad at this rate.

One of those days up at waterfoot as well, first, Stu took off with his 600, went inverted and lost all power got it upright but had no headspeed so had a fairly hard landing which broke the skids and a couple of other bits. Then Paul was flying his Align FBL 600 and it was flying really well until he lost all power and the heli went in fairly hard. Turned out the connector on his RX pack had loosened and was connecting intermittently!!

We all have those days mate, and it could of been worst i am sure.
Mine was mixed, 600le and 450 pro were superb, but my TZ engine was lacking a bit of power, and with fiddling eventually got it working ok, but the elevator slappers i was practicing yesterday with the aurora and were fine, couldn't do them well at all today on the TZ, think the aurora is better for sets thats for sure......lol
