Looking on the website I am not overly taken by the Innovation Plus glasses, I assume these are the only ones they can put a prescription in? I guess the question is do I need one?
Jason, I think you are the only person who can decide if you need prescription glasses. Having said that, there are other companies that do similar glasses, with prescription base lenses & different front lenses. I suggest you do a bit of research on the net. Just to reiterate, tho, I'm very happy with my innovations.

Being in the over 50 club I am falling apart, I suffer from Tinitus, cant see a thing without glasses and am going senile (or so my wife says)
I bought model Glasses a couple of years ago and got my optician to fit a pair of bifocal lenses to them, all up was about £120 I think. The glasses are good, however there are a couple of points I would make.
        1. The prescription section sits at quite an acute angle to your eyes (tipped forward)
        2. The opaque frame that houses the lenses has since fractured, and I had to do an onsite CA repair. (fortunately I didnt stick them to my nose)
        3. The frame assembly that hold the lenses weakens with age, and I have two of the three frames which one of the lugs has parted company, thus making the lenses difficult to secure on.

I will be having a good look around before I purchase more to see if there is a better alternative.

Hmmm I am in two minds now. The prescription is very mild - took a while to get the right combo and so tbh it might might make a difference, but 50 quid difference? I am not sure, I certainly not keen on the look of the prescription lenses, I was expecting them to look the same as the other sunglasses, but they look like clip on sun glasses.

I might take a look at the Nimbus ones and see how I get on with them till the eyes are more knackerd!

(maybe I am just being vain and not wanting to buy my first pair of glasses! LOL)

Mm that would be it Jason
to be honest, i am going to look at proper pair of wrap around prescription sunglasses I think, I have a friend who has some for cycling, (to keep wind out of the eyes as much as anything) and they look good.
Dont rush that is for sure, but one final point if you go to a "friendly" optician, you can always have some slight mods done to them more easily than if you send them away.

See where you are coming from, Rob, but the main benefit of the MGs for me was the interchangeable front lenses - I've got prescription sunglasses, but they don't hack it given the extremely varied light conditions we get.

Each to their own, of course, and we all need something we are individually happy with.

Agree with you Brian, I guess never having had prescription sunglasses before (other than the MGs) I dont know what they are like, and I am not about to walk around a street in MGs as my only pair of sunglasses

Yes, Rob, I reckon you might get a few funny looks wearing MGs on the high street.
