Rob (dedcalm) bought his Model Glasses to the field on Sunday and I have to say, they looked pretty good and are certainly good value.

I bought a pair of these at the start of summer, well worth the money. Use them everytime i fly at the field, the yellow lenses prob get the most use followed by the 'red'ones.

Is that so you can look at your flying thru rose coloured spectacles, Paul?

I know a guy at our club bought the prescription ones from elite models, then sent away his prescription to model glasses. He's very very impressed with them, he had the lenses checked too, and they were good to his prescription (although apparenty they were close to the acceptable limits). I use the normal ones, and wouldnt be without them now, I find myself squinting in almost any light conditions if I forget to put them on before flying.

The benefits for me are two-fold: -

                    1. Although my eyesight isn't that bad, I can't drive legally without glasses, and this definitely affects my ability to see which orientation my heli is in.

                    2. The range of lenses supplied for different light conditions means I'm not wearing a pair of (prescription) sunglasses that are too dark half the time, and not dark enough the rest, so it's win-win for me.

BTW, I'm not on commission with MG, but if anyone from there is reading this.....

Yes, Richy. I certainly think anyone wanting a pair of these would be wise to have an eye test first, to make sure their prescription is up to date.

                          Update

Got out very briefly today, it was very dull so I used the yellow lenses for the first time.

All I can say is WOW!!!! The visibility with those is incredible!

I have been to the eye doctor today and I now had a pescription, though it is only slight apparently (+.5/-.25/50 and +.25/-.25/120).

Looking on the website I am not overly taken by the Innovation Plus glasses, I assume these are the only ones they can put a prescription in? I guess the question is do I need one?
                              Regards,
