  • Oh dear I think Ive worn my mSR motor out

Ok, have been having great fun with my little mSR and have lost count of the number of successful flights I've had.
But Its suddenly started suffering with a serious lack of power, and when throttling up from standstill the main motor frequently refuses to start without giving a bit of tap to the rotor.
I have checked for any binding on the main gear and checked the motor connections to the 5 in one connecting block, they all seem fine. could it be I've knackered the motor out already

what ever you may think all brands suffer with brushed motor life...what the big deal with brushless. MCX twin motor ain't has less loads so maybe motors last longer...
Don't have either, 4#3b here but brushed motors have killed 3 RX!

As with brushed motors.. You really should let them cool down properly between flights. Having two lipos supplied in the box, and running one straight after another each time you use it could possible bring the motors life to a premature end. THe lack of power is a good indication that the motor is naffed.

yeah thats what i thought but I also thought with it being horizon it might be alot better than chinese micro helis in durability and support

                  Branding is everything!.....NOT

113 fullbrushless (not walkera brushless) and has TX
But not as easy to fly, which is really the point of the MSR

                    Oh well,
I have been hammering it quite a lot,
and as for back to back flights.
Guilty your honour. I just couldnt resist it

Have a read while your waiting for new motor.
Not used brushed motors that much( Only 2) 4#3 guys use wd40 on brushes put a little life back into them but read how they do it first. Flooding motor will not help

Well I was right, it was the motor
Anyway, one quick visit to the model shop and £8.99 later the new motor was fitted and its as good as new.
So I'm off over to the park now to take advantage of today's weather and give this little thing some space

Its a shame they didnt use a brushless main motor.

My 4#3B has had hundreds of flights and the motor is still strong.
