I think if you edit the first post and go advanced the option should be there if not ask a mod to do it for you.

Is this not the purpose of the Off The Topic section? A place that we can talk about whatever we like?

I am inclined to agree with the OP tho. He has a point and it could go pear shaped if allowed so to do.

However I have faith in Stuart, the mods and us all to shout loud and clear if it does get OTT.

Exactly why its called "off topic"

I know on RR you can turn off certain boards so when you click on new posts or home it dont show what you have selected not to be shown.

You occasionally hear, see people write "i dont see the off topic posts" etc etc or whatever.

Maybe,I dont know as it might be a right pain in the ass to do but maybe something similar could be adopted.

Or just excersise you right of choice

Martin, just read your piece in Rotorworld and don't know if anyone has pointed it out but you clunk is too long mate, 70mm is 5mm too much enough. Trust me clunk weight will suck itself to the back of the tank, and you get some auto practice as engine goes cough, cough.

Thanks Dave - I'll make it a tad shorter. I was going by what Finless Bob recommended.

It would be nice if that section wasn't displayed on the home page.

Personally, if I wanted to just chat to others about random happenings I would join Facebook, I come on here to get info on the latest news and developments in r/c heli's.

This place is jam packed with great info, unfortunately it is fringed by the occasional bout of dribble.

I wouldn't like to see the people that like the dribble deprived of it.

As I see it, the important thing is that people should be easilly able to see if there are new postings that they are interested in. Any 'swamping' problem is likely to go away if you can filter which forums appear in the display of new postings.

[It's also possible that I don't know how to use the forum system to configure some of this stuff.]
