are there any good trex 450/500 clones?

would this be any good as a cheap hack?new ccpm 500 t rex clone rc heli kit #awsome kit#U.K# on eBay (end time 27-Sep-09 18:50:18 BST) it says 100% trex compatible?? is this true? just wanting something nice and cheap that i can just go out and fly!without the worries that i have with the nitros!

That's not Trex 500 compatible, well actually it is and it isn't. Due to patents etc the main shaft and main gear are different.

Word of warning, there have been numerous reports of a badly made swash binding and the tail servo mounting splitting / falling apart.

If you still want one, may as well goto the supplier, get the updated swash and tail servo mounting. I think even with shipping it would still be cheaper than Ebay. If your interested the link is below.

I looked at the KDS offering...but there wasn't a huge difference in price so I decided not to be cheap and got a proper Trex :-)

Ive also got the flasher 450 almost ready to fly comes with everything but the radio gear.. can't fault it apart from the same issue with the tail blade holder dropping to bits. but i guess thats my own fault for not checking it first.. other than that its been in the air now for around 7 months & never touched it or cost anything since then..

careful with the 500 clones, only know one person that bought one, to get it flying hes spent more than it would have cost him for the genuine align 500 kit, and the motor is still not that good.

I never know with the clones as to whether its because their bad models that they dont fly well or because its usually people starting up thatbuy them and of course they lack experience to get them setup properly.

on a positive side I know a few people that have 450 clones that they are pleased with
