are there any good trex 450/500 clones?

im thinking of getting a decent 450 or 500 clone for a cheap hack for myself and possibly for my 6 yr old to start learning with! is there anything available worh having?

Do a search for Flasher 500 on the net, not sure if they do a 450 though.

Opinions a varied on how good or bad they are though...

I've got a Century GL450 looking for a new home. Upgraded with carbon blades and Hitec HS65MG servos all round. Currently has an AR6100 and a number of 3s 2200 batts all in good nick. Comes with an ally case too. PM me if interested.

Some of the 450 clones might be ok.
The HK 450 has quite a following in the US.

The difficulty is buying one at the right price, with second hand Trex avalable at good prices you might be better of buying the real deal second hand rather than a clone new.

I should have said that the GL450 is 100% compatible with the TREX 450 SE v1 so no probs with spares - get all mine from fast-lads, indeed it's more align than Century now!

I think HKH 450 is better looking than HK450 where canopy is just plain white. Otherwise both are probably made in the same factory.

Flasher 450, 100% compatible and can't fault the quality.

Wouldn't buy the ready to fly stuff, but the basic kit, or the kit with the motor and speed control are spot on. Spares are very cheap.

wouldnt mind aving a look at the flasher 500 to be honest! seem to remeber seeing them on ebay a while ago!will take a look at the 450 as well!

my flasher 450 was really good quality apart from the main bearings and the rubbish tailbaldes that fell apart on first flight!

i was gonna get a flasher 500 but i managed to bag a genuine trex 500 off the bay for the same sort of money. Personally i'd look at the Skya 500, as it seems to be full carbon and metal head/tail and very good quality. They also do a 450 pro...

I've got a Flasher 450, had to locktight everything but then I always do that with every heli. It flew really well, just like the Align v2

You can have it for £30 +pp

I've bought a Beam now so its just sitting collecting dust, just airframe blades etc.

Have to take the boom off to post.
