To behonest I expected damage but did not expect a tail boom strike but thinking about it at the speed she went it to the tree I'm lucky.
I agree, it's annoying, but at the same time, very funny! Just wish someone had a camera for my little incident. Looks like you're nearly there, now, so you'll be flying again soon.

Thanks Brian, hanger 7. I will be having a closer look at the swash plate as I can not understand how a metel swash plate can bend, but with the forces in action during the crash I can see it happerning.

TBH, Mike, I think the swash is one of the few things I haven't damaged on my heli, the other one being the ESC. I've destroyed the head, the tail..... you know the rest.

I know exactly how you feel, I got mine stuck in a tree a few weeks ago, luckily I found a 20ft pole and managed to hook it out! Unfortunately all the damage was done as it fell out of the tree onto a rock! Luckily I have more spares in stock than Horizon Hobby so it's back up and running again!

Well I have replaced about 60% of the heli now, seems what at first seemed to be a few broken parts has turned in to a major rebuild.

I have ordered the swash plate and rear tail shaft, new rear belt as that had some teeth missing and some ball links as these seemed worn from wear and not the crash.

Yep trees and helis do not mix, frequentflyer1234 it seems you were lucky with your crash. Glad to hear you are up and flying again.

                So far replaced the following:

                Main shaft
                Feathering shaft
                Main gear
                Tail boom
                All three cyc servo gears
                Tail control rod and guides
                Swash plate (pending)
                Tail shaft (pending)
                Belt
                Ball links (pending)
Some links where bent and have been replaced
                Main blades (Pending)

Main motor, ESC and rx seem ok after testing

All being well I should get some air under the skids on tuedays afternoon

Ok well she is all fixed and test flown. I also had to replace the swash, belt and tail rotor shaft.

Back in the air soon weather permiting.

Well I put two packs through her today and had to change some settings. One thing the gyro needed to be reversed or the hell would just spin round hmm not sure why at the moment as it was fine before also I had to reverse the rudder control on the TX hhhmm?, I have checked to make sure the tail is turning the right way which it is. As I had to rebuild the tail I am think maybe something mechanical?

I need to setup the pitch as unlike before she when she would hover around 3/4 stick she is off the ground at about half stick and when switching to idle up she pull away so the I will sort out the pitch today.

Cheers, I never removed the tail servo it was one of the things that was not destroyed in the crash or removed the tail control rod from the tail servo. Also the gyro has not removed either

Ok sorted out the pitch on the heli, as I had repaired the three cyclic servos the position of the link arms needed setting correctly to allow for +/- on the blades. Hmmm lesson learned there?
