Thanks Ivor i will keep at it.I really want to get into piro`ing moves like loops and rainbows etc.

Just to check,if you keep the boom facing you then you need to do a front and a back flip to complete the full Piro flip,is this correct? I have been front flipping only ie tail in right way up,nose in Inverted as start of flip reference.

watching vids like this Jetschin one only inspire me further.

He inspires me to, i cant see i will ever get anywhere near that standard.
I can only just manage half a right rudder piro toc but even that is a serious mess lol

Totally agree LOL but i am much more inspired by that sort of routine than a hard low 3d flight which bores me somewhat.

You can appreciate and follow a flight that uses plenty of sky.

Right off to practice, thanks for the tips.

I will post a video when i have cracked Piro flips and look forward to seeing Richards also when he has..

Well on phoenix (& i only ever try it on phoenix) i start a steady piro & then just start stiring the cyclic & amazingly enough it works. However getting collective management correct to keep it in one spot is a whole new ball game. I'm a stir & hope flyer.
Yes the big sigpic is coming back

Piro Flips are hard to do since its mostly about timing and collective management side of things

Ive been practicing them for ages!!!! and practice has sure payed off because i can now do them relatively "easy" in the simulator (dont really like to say easy, since its not) and im just beggining to transfer what ive learnt in the simulator to real life, ive done some in some of the videos i have done, and i must say, without learning them on the simulator, i dont think i would be doing them at where i am now

                      [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXe0dMd9_00&feature=channel_page[/ame]

at 1:05 in, you can see how the simulator has really helped, thats me translating what i have learned on the simulator into real life, hardly any practicing in real life, ive just gone on what i have learnt on the simulator and just went for the good old way of "Lets try it" and hey presto.,

Just keep at it, and you will sure get better! my advice would probably to learn the half piro flips, getting it inverted first, then work on applying a little negative pitch and bringing it to a small hover, and then practice hovering inverted and then piro flip back over to normal hovering, work on this and till you can do them relatively well, and then try and combine the two together to create a full piro flip, and it should all start to come together, timing and collective managment is the key to this maneuver

and then... give it a bash in real life you may even find doing them in real life a bit easier then the simulator.

go up high, start piro'ing and then as the tail comes round stir forward and then clockwise. keep doing it and eventually your brain will work out what the hell is going on.

EDIT: what the hell do I know, mine are still shit!

I was struggling to do this for a while but i got a good description from someone that helped me out. Break it into 4 stick movements.

With the heli piroing (anticlockwise in my case)

                              1. When the heli gets to (just before) tail in > up cylic
                              2. Skids towards you, tail right >right cyclic
                              3. Tail down >down cyclic
                              4. Tail left, approaching nose in inverted> Left cyclic

Heli should now be nose in inverted. Restart process. Stirring the cyclic is not a perfect circle, you use less as you get to point 4. Also this is just to practise getting it right in your head. Once you get better at it you will change the way you do it. I will try to knock up a pheonix video for you.
