  • os 50 strip down

took my exhaust off today because a engine mount bolt had come loose, when looking through the exhaust port i could see the top of the piston didnt look to smart so i took the engine out. found the clutch had broken(dont know how long its been like that but it was flying ok yesturday) and removed the head to find the top of the piston mashed, play in the crank, bottom of the crank case scored by the conrod and the liner scored.

is there any guides to taking a os 50 apart?
i cant get the fan off but i dont want to force it too much as its plastic.
    Thanks

    It was flying fine, but

    The clutch was fooked,
    Piston nackered,
    Play in the crank
    Scored liner
    Scored conrod?!

Pull the other one, that must have sounded like a bag of nails.

Quite a lot of damage there tbh. Would have thought you should be looking a new one?

                    Yeah i agree with Paul..

Seems like a lot of damage done, it maybe worthwhile just getting a new one, and keeping the busted one for spares, and learning on.. (To disasemble and re-assemble)

Time for a new engine, it'll cost less than the spares to repair the old one.
