One of the worst heli accidents I know of.
Looks bad, but he's still got both of his eyes.

Just as a reminder, in other activities "the worst accident I know of" can mean killing your family and yourself. So drive safely

I think we all need reminding how dangerous this sport is and can be from time to time,
That’s why the first thing I try impress on new pupils is what checks to do pre start and how to start a heli safely, plus the importance of having throttle hold setup on their TXs

Hate the thought of walking across the field heli in one hand, thumb holding the throttle down on the tx in the other
tripping over dropping the tx which jolts to full throttle and the blades happen to be level with your face as you try to stop your beloved heli hitting the ground
AHH my worst nightmare, you'd deff end up looking like him,,, thats if you survived.

I felt badly done too when I got a thwack on the knuckles from a little twister gold 400 size heli, but this is really nasty looking.

That's real nasty,I have often thought of wearing safety glasses when flying helicopters i would hate something to spin off and blind me...

thought about this quite a few times now...

In all fairness heli I don't think that safety glasses would help you if that can happen to your whole head.
