dont buy a dodgy clone, they are cheap for a reason. with the price of a complete 450 pro being what it is, it would be stupid to go down the clone route.

Tims advise is sound.. + your spend more money... trying to get it to fly properly and then your realize you could of bought something better to start with... Quality will always be worth more as a resale value as well..

                    Callum,

A bit of advice... Concentrate on what you already have. Get the vison back together and go out and fly it. Then, use the money to stock a few of the necessary spares which always break when you crash.

When i bought my 3rd heli, someone said to me just before i bought it to do the above, and shortly after i tended to agree with what they said. A crash is not as hard to stomach if you know you have 75% of the bits at home. And also heed the advice of what others have said and steer clear of "clones" If you are going to buy, buy something that is proven and tested

BTW, on the subject of Import Tax, most of the time i have gotten away with it. However, last week i ordered a $120 bag from the US and even after speaking with the shop owner and asking for it to be sent as "gift" and in a plain box i got stung for £28 of import tax.

Yeah good advice, its just that i would like a cheap 450 that will fly just as good a trex 450,

But your right, i should concentrate on what i already have, i should be getting a secondhand vision 50 airframe to get me back in the air..

                      regards

                        Callum,

It really depends on what you want to do with the "Cheap 450". I have one and they are great for what I am doing with them, which is sport flying. I know from your vids on YouTube that you are doing 3D, I think for that as others have already said you need to spend more.

                        Steve.

i'd just buy a second hand trex 450 there will be plenty about due to people upgrading to the pro. as for import tax i've always been stung by things coming from the us, never been stung by stuff from hk though

Avoiding tax/duty etc. by marking it as a 'gift' is an urban myth.

Due to the volume of packages arriving in the UK, not every package gets picked up for tax/duty assessment so many get through untaxed.

However, if you are unlucky enough to get yours picked up then it will need to have a declared value less than £36 for the 'gift' designation to have any use. Above £36 and VAT will be due regardless of the 'gift' designation.

If the item is valued over £105 then duty will be payable as well.

On top of that there will usually be a charge from whoever is collecting the VAT/Duty from you either the Royal Mail or the courier in most cases.

If tempted to under-report the value of a package do remember that this also affects the amount you can reclaim from any postal insurance if the package is lost.

The parcelforce handling fee is a joke !
