JR DSX9 also needs one (and probably the DSX12 too but at that price it should hover infront of you at the right angle and height!)....

My DSX9 came with one. It's not long enough though!
Yeah, so did mine.... ditto.... Silly isn't it.
However the Spectrum one I bought for my DX7 is longer than the JR one, so I fitted that one!

The transmitters need a balance device because the manufacturers are too lazy to make the case properly or fit the internals to make it balance. All the cases are designed to balance with a 35Mhz aerial sticking out of the top.
The new Futaba 10CG is the same. Designed as a dedicated 2.4G radio yet it doesn't balance.
I think Airtronics is the only company with their new SD-10G that have made sure the radio is balanced at the neckstrap point.
What's the big deal if the transmitter balances or not,i mean if you cant hold a radio properly unaided then i wouldn't like to see how the heli is flying lol!
