I don't know about Scott free, but both Dan and Lee were there, LOL!

Wayne chose not to have any 'other' curves to think about while he was getting used to this heli, its his first nitro and he's only had a handful of flights, so far. I agree flying without a TH curve is not a good idea, but in this case, its a moot point because the engine failed. If it had been a different failure, then there is always the throttle cut button as a backup!

That said, Wayne did an awesome job of not panicking and bringing the R50 down safely, thats what we are celebrating here, not looking for fault or blame!! Hopefully someone other than Wayne can learn from this incident, etc etc!

Wayne, we will program a TH curve when I fit the new engine this week, don't worry, I'll walk you through it Bud!
    regards

    Pip

Hey, where d'you learn to fly? I saw you shoot your rocket
    up.............. into the sky.

Hey, I heard you set the pace, I never thought I'd see you back................ in this old place!

      Hi Pip
Not blaming anybody and any save is a good one. Agreed in the case of a flame out throttle hold would be usless and you wouldn`t want to be felling for switches anyway. Just pointing out some of the many mechanical failures throttle hold can save the day or save you some money at least. Anyway now Wayne has done one auto he`ll be after doing them all the time. l`m pretty good on maintainance but l also know any of my helis could fail next time up. l may or may not save it but l want to give myself a fighting chance.
      Hi Wayne
Got it on that ground run thing but l`ll have to say you`d be better off flying it even if you hover it for a couple of minutes and then give it a minutes rest at idle and go again, check back plate each time.

Thank you OB2 very true words indeed buddy, the new engine will be here tomorrow, so she'll be airborne after the run in's just to be safe.

I'm pleased your have fun with your Rappy too, Mike was doing 3D flying with his 30 on the day concerned with 12%, wicked flying.

I just love the laid back lazy feel they have compared to the 450 class, and the flying distance you can stretch with one.

Wishing you success Bro, keep the fuel burning.

saved some fuel yesterday wayne as someone had done a bodge job on the breather pipe nipple attached to the exhaust and it came off luckily i was only hovering around trying to find out why it was leaning out but should have it sorted out for the weekend i am so pleased i moved up to a bigger heli i am now doing figure of eights comfortably ,nose in and some free flight with it and the best about it i can see it more easily ,i've only had two gals through it but it seem a lot more lol.
