So why is the Trex 600E now rubbish

I agree dont write 6s off yet although 8 or 10s will always be better.

I witnessed a 600ESP flying yesterday with one of the new Hyperion g3 packs 6s 5000 and all i can say is "WOW" also the pack was pretty cool after the flight.

So in summary i think the Lipos are starting to exceed the needs of the model.

I was so gonna convert my Logo 500 to 10s but having seen that i have totally abandoned that idea.

I presume that converting a 600e from 6s to 8s means a change of motor, esc and pinion. What sort of kit is recommended?

the best setup I've come across is the Scorpion 4025-740kv, 8S 4200/4400 and a Castle HV85. Although I've not had much luck with Castle ESC lately, they used to be pretty good.

same spec as above but if you can afford the cash go for the kontronik esc...its really good and has a great governor mode too.

Except the Kontronik gov mode has a weird way of setting the head speed.

On the CC, you directly tell it what speed you want. On the Kontronik, no-one could tell me how you consistently get a specific head speed.

It wasn't cost that put me off Kontroniks.

You use a flatline throttle curve and the % figure you use = target headspeed. I have 3 Kontronik esc's and think they are superb
