Trust you to come up with an excellent idea like that

A nitro has a failsafe as well, as I tell everyone I have given advice too, if it goes wrong first thing to do is hit the hold/kill by the time it hits the deck hopefully most of the energy will have gone and you may even get away with only minor damage.

I have yet to see a heli that has lost one of its controls(usually the tail) that has benefited from keep fighting it in the air.

Only argument I can see for that is if it is over people but then it shouldn't be in that position anyway(but it does happen)
        All the best

the hold switch should be renamed to the 'save me money' switch.

Yes but how many of us could pull that trigger?

What I usually do is go invent a time machine so I can go back in time and stop myself flying that day.

I will admit to having flown in my garden a few times. Well, a bit of bunny hopping and the occasional hover.

                  Perhaps I'd better re-think this...

While we are on the subject of where not to fly, What about performing several pirouetting loops around some overhead power lines.

...kind of reminds me of the specsavers advert

Well it's a shame that this vid got this far and my first post here has to be one of embarassment. I was the stupid pilot in that video. Not sure what I was thinking to be honest, or rather, lack of thinking was probably the cause. I intended to hover on my front drive and just got carried away and decided to do a quick flip to test my new swash mix. Well, you saw the results. Apologies to all for lack of forethought and trust that I don't fly like this usually. I have a large field that I use but could not that day as I've bust my leg up in a bike accident so getting there is a little hard. Still, no excuses it was daft, dangerous and I won't be doing it again that is for sure. I do like to use my garden for hovers but that has nice high fences so no one other than myself is at risk. I hope that you guys can see past this one very daft mistake and not condemn me for for all eternity.

Fair dues bruv. Takes a brave man to admit his mistakes.

Rest assured that, at some point or another in our heli careers (of which mine is in it's early days), this could have happened to many of us.

p.s. you're not a million miles from me - perhaps you could swing by the club I use in Pirbright?

Crikey you must have high fences in you're garden if you can fly that high and not put anyone else at risk lol , i reckon that would have cleared the fence at Wormwood Scrubs lol . No fair play for owning up mate , it takes the bigger man . Rob .

Lol. Well I don't fly all that high in my garden, certainly not high enough for any flips.

Thanks for the replies. Only been flying 6 months so still a lot to learn!

Mart, thanks for the invite. I would love to come along at some point.
