Feel lucky to have saved my Aurora too after a snapped link. The Blue flaming technique to free up the links is all well and good but i fear it has weakened them and now there is a trust issue. May change them all and start again!

The rest of my helis were on song and i enjoyed my flying although i was not really in the groove either. I think once there are a few misshaps it effects your confidence even if your not on the sticks yourself.

Have to say though its my trusty 500 and 600 that just do what they say on the tin and although i love my 90 it refuses to play ball at present. Mind you i wouldnt swap it for a 700!!!

Finally.... if every day was easy and went to plan, it would get boring. The good days make it all the worth while IMHO
Links ordered mate, in fact the aurora bits were cheeper than the beams, links were over 6 quid though Harrys quote was spot on, future comedian me thinks, love my aurora and sure as hell am not selling it but after flying your 600 on tuesday and ashleys today, i do have to say i miss mine, why did i sell ithurry up and sell me yours mate

Mark, I have just changed all my links as I too over blue flamed them. Take a close look at them and if you see small bubbles then you overcooked them.
Think that sounds like another night in to sort Marks links out then

Mark let me have a thrash of his superpro on tuesday and i had just forgoten how good they were, and then gave ashleys a good fly today and again just felt so good, the vision for the money is good but not anyway near as accurate as a 600, i would even be happy with a standard pro again

Ah i see, is that to make way for a 450pro
I am hoping Mark will sell me his super pro soon, that was yours remember, flown it a few times lately and is just so good, sometimes sticking with what you know is the best way to go.

After crashing the 700 last weekend due to a regulator failure all I needed to repair was a clutch lining (burned the old one out completely ), flybar, set of blades & regulator - or so I thought. The heat caused when the clutch burned out demagnetised the magnets, I found this out after the clutch stack was back in the heli so had to strip it down again to drill the bell to get the old magnet out. Got that sorted and finished the reassembly to find that the Carbsmart wasn't working, the sensor is fine and the lights all flash but servo won't move, try another servo, no good so end up buying a complete Carbsmart. Fit the new one to find - it's exactly the same It turns out that when you connect the lead from the Carbsmart into the receiver, if you get the plug the wrong way around all the lights work but the servo doesn't - doh!

Came to fly the 700 again yesterday and the clutch is dragging so badly it all needs to come out again to sort it. At this point I thought I'd give the Outrage 550 a good workout and stripped the main gear, the pinion had moved down the shaft.

As has been said, bad luck like this just seems to come all together, all you can do is keep going, plus keeping the spares stockists in business too.

Interesting the comments about Aurora's stripping main gears ( no comparisons with Trex 700's, honest ) A fellow clubmate managed to strip the main gear on his Aurora and the mesh with the new main gear looked a little slack too.

Feathering shaft bolt came loose on my outrage 550 on its second flight of the day that caused it to have a heppy fit, but all ok now.
Was never happy with the messing on the auroras main gear and think i need to re address it when it goes back together, hopefully the parts will be here on tuesday to get it sorted

That's a coincidence, checking my 550 out before the first flight of the day and noticed some play in one of the blade grips, the feathering shaft bolt had come loose and I'm always very picky about Loctite on these.

I've got the 550 set on advanced settings and I'm finding it very pitching in FFF, just the nature of the beast?

Looking at the Aurora it was almost as if the ratio plates on the clutch stack were the wrong way around but they are right according to the manual, can't understand why they fit adapter plates for different ratios but can't get the mesh right.

I think there was a batch of smaller main gears on the Aurora. The one I have now meshes great.
