so the .50s are going to be .60s.
Is there a .60 that is actually more powerful than the 50 hyper?
And the gaping hole in the market for a 3D capable .30/550mm blade heli using so much less fuel than a .50 remains unfilled.

But would a .30 size ever really be truly 3d'able? The physical airframe size/weight differnce compared to a 50 won't be that much, so I fear it would be hugely underpowered.

Easily solve that one, just stick a 50 in it

if you were trully going to have a 30 sized machine then surely you'd be looking at a machine not alot larger than a 500 to give you that power to weight ratio needed.
        All the best

Not if you look at the outrage 550 or hurricane, they are real pure 3d machines, but i see what you mean, it would need a new generation of 30 size engines to give the power reqd as those are electric.
I am very pleased to hear that the outrage will be capable of running 620's and bigger engines as i have pre-orderedi just love the look of the thing for some strange reason

based on today's power systems and power requirements you would put a OS37 in a 500, an OS 50 Hyper in a 550 and an OS57, YS55 etc in a 600/620.

Electric seems to be much easier to get power out of compared to nitro, but electric has it's own set of problems; cost of packs, power tailing off through the flight, comparatively short flight times etc etc.

I'd love to see a really good smaller nitro swinging 450-550 blades, fingers crossed that someone is already developing one

Or if os were to bring out an os45 or something.
If you think about it a raptor 30/50 is virtually the same heli, so it can be done, think an outrage 550 with a hyper in, that would be mental

If you really want a 90 and as mentioned can afford the crash repairs, then what I have seen has to be the N9. For solid and robustness along with reliablitity and accessible spares it has to be a Rappie ! Like Ade said though stick with a 50 , the N5 looks great!
