The story about my heli is probably very common, but I decided to write about it so other peaple could avoid a situation like mine.
I bought the basic E-sky King2 (I thought it would be a good heli to learn how to fly) from Sussex Model Centre (not recommended by me). It supposed to be RTF heli, but came not set at all! First thought I'v got was just to return it. But the heli price was around £110 and £10 of the postage (so over £20 (near 20% heli price) lost if I returned), so there was no point. I decided to set it with someones help. The set up was not so easy as the tail (as I found out is a common situation for King2) was turning around with rate gyro. So I bought HH gyro (£30). The heli still was turning because of a low authority of the tail, so I bought 43t pulley (£15). After 5th fly the ESC broke, new one costs around £7, so probably better to buy an ESC with a brushless motor (£20-30) as brushes goes off quick. When you buy brushless motor you must also buy a new battery 1500mA (£20) as 1000mA lasts too short time (anyway the broken ESC damaged an old battery). And possibly soon I would need to buy a new radio (or forget about flying) as the stock one is not compatibile with my HH gyro. Bad situations made me lost a bit of will to further flying, but from another side, better it happend at the beginig as less money wasted (basic King2).
Summary:
110(heli) + 20(all postages) + 30(HH gyro) + 15(pulley) + 25 b.motor + 20(battery)= £220
For £160 you can buy King3 or £170 Belt CP2 (hope these are much better) with all the upgrades and few more. It is right to say: the learning costs a fortune.
So the advice for all (expecially begginers) if you buy anything, make you sure it is right and do not make mistakes i have done (but learnt something)!
Regards
