    Hi carla.
im pretty sure if you wrote to the mythbusters they could knock a rig up to do this
    sounds right up their alley.

im betting it would kill your engine tho as human remains are sucked into it
so it would have to be a scattering to auto

While this maybe a nice send off for a loved one, this could void your BMFA insurance.

'In addition, Article 98 of the ANO requires that:
      (1) A person shall not cause or permit any article or
animal (whether or not attached to a parachute) to
be dropped from a small aircraft (defined by the
CAA as a model up to 20 kg without fuel - Ed ) so as
      to endanger persons or property.

      (2) A person in charge of a small aircraft which
weighs more than 7 kg without its fuel but including
any article or equipment installed or attached to the
aircraft at the commencement of the flight shall not
fly such an aircraft (again, the use of the words
‘small aircraft’ define the weight limits as being
between 7 and 20 kg without fuel - Ed).'

Quoted from page 11 of the BMFA members handbook.

Its probably a little late to endanger the person being dropped

                The critical points are in

                No.1 so as
                to endanger persons or property.

No intension I think to hurt anyone in the process so provided you do it safely and take all the precautions your okay.

No. 2 - Most will be under 7kg to start with.
                Cheers

As always, we all aim to fly safety, but not sure where you would stand in the event of a claim if things when wrong?

                        Well, at least the deceased wouldn't sue. . . . . .

I can't believe some of you are taking this subject so seriously, I have tears in my eyes because I'm laughing so much.

Still, if it were a Harrods or M&S carrier bag, rather than Aldi or Lidl, I guess it'd have been OK.
