  • I tried some hovering in the garden. Seems a bit windy and kept me on my toes. Managed to avoid hitting anything with the rotor blades. So far. I need to buy a second battery. Might head out later for one.

    • Just been out with the 700..... perfect weather but i was not really in the mood.

Flying on my own as all my flying buddies were working

Not the same on your own and i don't like pushing 90's when your by yourself for safety reasons.

      • Flight batteries flat. Fuel bottle lighter. Everything in the same number of pieces as they started. Another happy day at the patch

Quick turn-around needed now; got an evening session to go next...
Peace: Being left alone to examine the new bits you've just bought!

        • Done 3 batteries though the Rave in some Park in Preston nr where Im working, my flying is improving its getting a lot smoother. I nearly cut the grass, it must have only been a few inches off in an inverted hover. I was tempted to attempt my first backwards inverted hurricane which I have recently got to grips with on the sim but I think I'll save that for when there's no one there to watch me crash Still waiting on a couple of Rhino batteries to arrive from HK. It was a perfect day for flying no wind!

          • Can't compete with any of that, but I've just run a battery through the Chinook and only had to put it down once.

I felt a 'getting too clever' moment coming on, so called it a day and poured a large scotch....

            • I like my grass a bit longer in winter!!!!!!!!! So no inverted hovering for me. However, I can report that after a near disaster a while ago, and a few electronics snags and tx snags, my 450 flew again today!!!!!! Only one batt, but it was stable and promising, with a bit of tweaking required.

                Pretty good weather for flying

                • I flew today, well, tonight! Had company, Moyesboy and Rapidgaz. It was thick with FOG. Anyway we carried on and fog forced us to fly close in. Nice flying by the way Moyesboy! Rapidgaz stripped a main gear on his 'night' vision, so was forced to auto from about 12ft which had a rough landing causing him to break a landing strut (think you got away pretty well from that). Then Moyesboy was having so much fun he ran out of fuel on his 600, another forced auto and another broken landing gear! I chickened out after you couldn't see past 15-20ft. All in all, a mad night lol
                  Thanks, Chris

                    • BIG thanks

Big thanks to Nick [bladestriker] for a great day at his flying Club. We both managed several flights with our helis, which included 2 Trex 600NPs, Trex 600ESP, Trex 500 and a Trex 450Sport, despite the misty, chilly weather. No casualties either.

                      Thank goodness for the woodburner!!!!!!!!!!

                      Cheers Nick

                      • Foggy here too, I flew my 500 and the 600, the blades beat the damp out of the air and the booms on both ended up dripping with water. Doing my bit to disperse the fog

                          • got 3 flights on the Rave today, I moved my stubz flybar weights in a bit so Im not quite used to it, I think I may add a bit of expo to dum down centre stick as I usually only have 5% but its a bit quicker now

this is a really really bad quality video, worst ever sorry, got a sub 4" inverted hover on it though

                              • I had another few goes today. Brief rest while I fitted more new blades and feathering shaft.
