Nice looking aeroplane. If I were to join a fixed wing club, I am pretty sure that is what I would go for.
I had narrowed down my list to the Ruckus or the AcroWot and from what I have read, the Ruckus can be a bit more tame than the Acrowot, so it was probably the best choice. It comes with everything installed and there's really almost no assembly. TX setup is incredibly simple. It seems to be very well designed. If I have one gripe it is that the space inside where the LiPo goes is a bit of a tight squeeze, but everything fits.
I should get the new 4s packs next week, so I'm hoping that will give me the vertical climb I'd like. It's a nice challenge because it's very different from helis. I was nervous about landings but have been able to get a good approach angle, and set it down very gently. I was flying on their recommended control throws and no expo, but before I fly again I will up the throws and dial in maybe 20% expo.

How does it compare to flying fixed wing on the SIM? I used to enjoy flying fixed wing 3d on the SIM with prop hanging the new inverted hover type skill.
I would have liked an Addiction same as 3djim used to fly before he went all quad obsessed lol.
Tell you what flying in the heat we've been having would be a bitch. Not so much an issue for a pincher but thumb flying gives some twitchy ring moments with sweaty hands and thumbs.
It has been a long time now since I tried fixed-wing on the sim. I'll have to see what models are on AccuRC. But I have never been able to prophang on any sim as yet.
I flew the Ruckus again Thursday, this time with some new 4s packs and it has the extra punch I was looking for. I dialed in some expo and upped the throws a bit and still need a bit more throws, but it's getting there. I wanted to fly fixed-wing for a while, and I do enjoy the difference and the potential challenge. However, the problem is that we just don't have enough good flying weather here, and the other thing is that I don't wake up every day wanting to go flying. So, the plane is taking away potential heli flying time.
What is most depressing to me now, is that I can no longer tolerate much heat, nor can I tolerate cold. In the past I have lived in places that were hotter for a lot longer, and I was used to it. So, here I am, moaning (quite justifiably) about the long winters, only to find that I cannot handle the heat when it finally arrives :-(

Too hot for me to fly, yesterday and today. I went to the club on Friday from about 10 to midday. That was about as much as I could stand.
I went out Thursday and the forecast had been 24-25, but it felt warmer to me, and sure enough when I checked the observations it had hit 27.2. So I thought OK, 27 isn't too bad, a bit more than I'd like, but I can handle it for a little while. So today the forecast was for 27, I spent about an hour and a half and then went into town for lunch, and looked up the Met office observations to find that it was actually 30 today at 11AM. (And it's always a little higher in town, so by the time I had lunch it was probably 32). Anyway - now I know the formula - don't go out unless the forecast is 24 or lower :-o
It might be different if we had some shade at the the field, but there's nothing. I have an umbrella, but that's just not the same as a big shady tree.

I visited the RAF Little Horwood Model Flying club today. I hadn't been there before and I went as the guest of three of my fellow MK members who are members there also.
It is a very interesting place, an old WW2 airfield. The club members were very friendly and I saw a few fixed wing flights as well as helicopters. The weather was good, nearly as good as at MK. I had 3 flights with my heli and two with my foamy.

No flying no but flying high mentally yes after passing my HGV class 1 on Thursday first time. CV sent out to a bunch of companies on the Friday, immediate response with interview invite tomorrow for class 1 days. If I was flying I'd be blade scraping right now ????
Congratulations. As Arthur Daley would say "the world is your lobster".

I almost ran him over on my push bike in 1986/87. I was on YTS in Arts 1 building at Southampton uni and it was/is next to the Nuffield Theatre. I was just on my way home for lunch and cycled about 40ft and slammed on the brakes and swerved. Apologized and done a double take and fook me it was him walking out of the theatre. Hat, jacket on the shoulders etc, and smoking a cigar. It was like I had just cycled onto the set of Minder lol.
And on that note Howard's way used to have certain scenes filmed at the uni behind the library and opposite building 7. The rear wheel of my bike whilst I was sat on it appeared in shot as I was ushered out of shot behind a pillar, so I've kind of appeared on Howard's way.
You had my hopes up for second or two there Paddy. I thought you might have flown a helicopter again. Well done with the passing the test and getting the job interview. Good luck with it. Knock 'em dead.
