  • Looks excellent!

Mine doesn't feel heavy to me at 1300 and that's where I normally fly it. I have as much pitch as possible, I forgot exactly, maybe 14 degrees, 13.5, something like that. I have had Radix 690s on it for a while and just fitted some Edge 690s that I have not yet tried. I also haven't flown mine since late summer last year. (usually with 4000mah packs, but I have recently re-arranged things so that I can run 2600mah packs and still get a good C of G).

    • Mine is set for 13 degrees. I definitely think more is needed for ultra low RPM. I did have it set for more (maybe 14), but while I was checking the setup yesterday, I dropped it back to 13.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

        • Yeah I don't know how much pitch I actually need, I don't think I'm using it all but I like a punchy feel around mid-stick. I have a fairly light setup, Align 750mx / 450Kv, Jive 80HV, 13 tooth pinion.

          • 12 flights at MK club. A little bit of rain passed through but generally clear. A few other pilots out and the chairman cleaning up ready for F3N tomorrow. Quite a nice session in the wind.

            • Well done Richard. I understand that the chairman did a very good job getting the club cleaned up.

I am still struggling to get my TDR set up to be how I want it. When I first acquired it I used a Spartan Vortex VX1 with my Spektrum DX8 transmitter. I then changed to mini V bar with the DX8 and Spektrum sats. I then bought a v control transmitter and a v receiver. Then lockdown came. I am now flying again (socially distanced of course) and making a bit of progress with the set up. I am being assisted by a very good friend and when we have time and weather we will get it done. Ideally I want the heli to be able to do very precise hovering manoevres under my relatively incompetent control. I will let you know how I get on.

He mowed the grass, cleaned the loos and managed the gate during the comp! You'd think a man of his age would take the ocassional nap, but he still seems full of **** and vinegar, with enough energy left over to support the pilots in his usual manner

The comp went really well. Postponing the previous rainy Sunday's event brought them the more typical MK weather of sun and light winds. With the breeze in the face, there were some complaints of cold hands during the first sets round, but it didn't seem to affect the flying.

With lots of MK members/ex-members competing, judging and helping out, it was a good day to catchup with everyone.

The result is that the GB team for Romania next year has been chosen. It's Duncan, Aaron, Dave, and Summer as the junior. Ethan is reserve.
