Yeah I noticed on the Hely Shop website it shows a combo kit with Zeal blades but those in the pic look like Rotortech, best I can tell from this angle.

          • Yes, they are Rotortech. I ordered it direct from XLPower and for a small additional price they changed the blades.

            • Hey up

Maidened my goblin 700kse yesterday. The first time i have flown a 700 class heli, my previous experience being on a 600 class. All i can say is wow, very very stable, very good visibility, floaty. just a fantastic pressence in the sky! at 1600rpm at the head it flew reasonably. a little slow on the collective, but i plan on increasing the headspeed to 1700 to 1750 with a new pinion.

So its going to be a learning curve with the flight tuning. I am not the best at it. But i can see why 700 size is so popular!

              • I got out for only the third time this year. What a long winter it's been. We were saying how we've never know one so bad for lack of flying weather.

I flew 3x flights on the Trex 700, 2x on the Logo 600 before it started to rain.

The Trex 700 isn't impressing me any more. I'd rather fly the Logo 600. It might be time to get rid and bite the bullet on a new 700. Maybe it was the wind, but I was most disappointed after the third flight. There wasn't that "wow" factor, which I was expecting after not flying it since last year.

If there was more parts support, I'd be tempted to try the XL Power. But, I'll keep my eye out for a used Logo 700 or maybe a Goblin 700 instead.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

Yep, you can get spoiled! I would think you could get a more punchy feel at 1600 with some tweaking of the FBL. I was always used to 1800-1900 with nitro and then I slowly started trying lower and lower headspeeds with electric and I just upped the pitch range to get the responsive feel I'm used to at mid stick.

Acrowood in Germany will have the full range of parts for the XLPower 700 by the end of this week, shipment is in transit as we speak. Shipping cost is quite reasonable. Here in the UK I know Alessio at Heli-Shop intends to carry XLPower but I'm not sure on the timescale.

Germany has become the epicentre of RC heli activity. I guess it always was but it's just more apparent now with the decline of the UK shops and the exit of some of the far eastern brands.

                              • Flew today. Tail blade grip bolt broke in flight trashing my Trex 700 on the third flight. I just saw it fly off to the left and wrestled it to the floor after hitting hold. Maybe rescue would have helped, if I remembered I had it to get it level before hitting hold.

If you haven't already, you're probably best upgrading to the latest hub with the bigger bolts.

Carried on flying the Logo 600, which is still epic. I also flew better after the crash. I cared less about stuffing it in.
