Went flying yesterday. First heli flight in a few years and about 9 years since last go on a Nitro. Picked up an unfinished Raptor 30V2 and finished it off. Couple of tanks worth of flight, all went well.
I maidened my new XLPower Specter 700, all went smoothly. This is a really nice heli, hopefully a UK dealer will get stock soon.
It looks really good, 'very chunky head and 15mm main shaft. It's just crying out for an 800 stretch kit.

First flights since last September !!!
popped to Charmouth to see what’s happening in the heli scene. Managed 3 flights on the Diabolo and 3 on the Logo 700.
visibility was pants with lots of misty fog and vis down to 20 meters or less at times, but it’s perked my interest in helis again
yes I went out flying today
the Hirobo SDX50 was flown with the Hirobo fbl head for the first time, and as expected like any Hirobo perfect from the off
I also used my Hirobo Freya to pass my helicopter examiners test

Congratulations, David.
I had a brilliant day at sunny Milton Keynes. There was hardly a breath of wind. It was warm and (because a good few of the lads went to Charmouth) not too busy. There was no more than six of us at any one time. I had three flights with my 450, two with the 600 and four with the 700. I practiced all of the B test routines but even in the calm conditions I wasn't much good. I also practiced a few partial autos, flicking the throttle back on at about 10 to 15 feet.

It has been nearly as long for me as well, probably late October ish. I did take the first step towards getting back into it, I went up the hill behind my flat to check out the condition of a huge field up there that I fly at sometimes. It looks good, all plowed and nothing growing yet. I kinda wish I had flown today as the weather was perfect but I need to check over the helis, see if the Optiguards still work, see if my LiPos have survived, round up my tools, charge the TX etc. etc. I feel so out of the routine and don't want to forget something important.

Alessio that runs Helyshop had one at Mk heli club today, very nice looking machine.Tempted to get one now.On that size machine I think it would benefit from a tail belt tensioner.
Thank you all for the kind words on the examiners test
I had a shock today when I realised that it was 9 years ago that I took my helicopter B
Mike my advice with the B test is to practise at least one part of the test on every flight you have and never ignore the areas that at present is your strongest
and don't forget to read the BMFA handbook and the mandatory questions (a little and often)
try the online test on the mandatory questions every so often to keep in touch with them, ready for the day you take the test

I have had an excellent day today. MK was sunny (as usual) and warm with a light breeze from the South.
I had four flights with the 600, two with the 450 and four with the 700. I have started to practice autos. It isn't easy. Thank goodness for the instant bail out on the Castle.
We had a good turnout, I think 15 members altogether.

My first time back flying since about late October ish. And that first flight.... really rusty and major nerves, but all went well. As usual I charged about twice as many packs as I ended up flying, the rest of the time spent being a spectator and just being happy to be out in the sunshine again.
