Did YOU fly today??

Yesterday actually.
Still haven't fully decided on which heli to go for next, (I'm getting lots of good advice on my thread 'Which 450') so i thought i would try the Huey (Blade SR) for the first time since i smashed it up as a very green beginner.
I strippped the body off and changed the tail to a standard SR one.
It was very windy in the park but i was easily able to hoover but because of the wind i left it at that.
Really pleased to be making progress. The weather is frustrating me though.

Met up with the Medway Massive for a good mornings flying. Had a few showers and the wind was quite strong to start with but settled once the sun tried to break through. The first flight on the protos was going well until I had a loss of power then a un called for rescue. Landed and everything checked out ok. Finished the rest of the flight with no issues, I will review the video and logs later.


After some issues with the NEO on the Goblin I finally got my replacement unit to put on. The first flight was perfect, good feeling, responsive and most importantly no elevator nodding!!! �� After the first flight the rates and style got adjusted and the second pack was great. Very sharp on the Cyclics and one or two more flights will see it dialled in to how I like it.

Well, after spending the whole week not quite managing to get my protos max airworthy again I went out and had 9 amazing flights with my awesome little protos 500. This thing flies just so well, if I could fly my max as well as I can fly this then I'd be very happy!

After laying dormant in the cupboard for over 2 years, I dug out the much beloved 550 and got it air worthy again.

Installed the VX1n I had bought for It yonks ago, updated that to the latest firmware and used the new (probably not new) PC software to set it up. I’m a big fan of using the laptop for initial set up, it made it a doddle, whilst I was at it I set up the YGE, fitted some new DFC ball links, new jesus bolt, nylocs throughout and gave the whole thing the once over.

The weather was less than favourable so I resorted to just a simple hover in the garden. With no drama she propped up into a nice stable hover despite the wind, no vibes, no drifting, no odd noises, happy days! Gains will need adjusting as it’s a bit wobbly but all was good. It felt awesome to get it airbourne again, I was buzzing after that.

I cannot believe it’s been over 2 years since I’ve flown that heli, time absolutely flies. I’m disappointed with myself actually. I really must make time for this hobby again…

Got 10 flights in today, first time out in nearly 2 weeks due to work. Wasn't really happening today, nothing felt quite right, but still had lots of fun so still a good day.

Had 6 flights at the field today. First couple I had to share with the farmer as he was doing some crop spraying, but by the 3rd he left me to it. Today I went over hovering, lazy 8's and circuits for the first 2 flights on the Protos, then moved on to piro flip, transition, flips, roll and aileron tic toc practise with the last 2 flights. Made some progress as didn't have to use rescue once with the Protos. Then I had a tuning flight with the Goblin and settled quite quickly. Tried some piro flips but couldn't quite get them and rescue came to the rescue a couple of times. Turned the rates up a little and a touch more style and now they are almost there. The sky was dark with the last Goblin flight so spent most of the last pack messing around and cutting the tall grass.

Only on the sim. Been practicing flying to the music I'll use at Air and I'm actually starting to form an actual routine that A, I can repeat and B, works with the music I have. All I have to do now is translate it to a real helicopter on a grey, cloudy day with 20mph winds! Lol

took 6 packs out, only spent 3 before it started raining AGAIN. More circuits tho, got a few half decent left turns in. Managing altitude in the corners alot better now. Just keep plugging in the flights!

Yes, 3 flights yesterday with my Trex 550 V3 to make sure all is well before the new owner comes to collect today.

I will be very sorry to see her go. I have bought an E700....lets hope i like this one as much as the 550.

Watch out for the Trex 550 wanted ad lol....
