had a few flights with the 450 and a quick test flight with the 550 before I went ahead to take my A certificate ...

Finally flew at an event today at MK funfly! First flight was definitely a shaky-fingered one but after getting it out of the way, I had a great day's flying. It sure takes some getting used to flying on a busy flightline (populated by some insanely good pilots) though. . .

I've been too nervous/intimidated on previous comp flyins (Zone, Air are the only ones I've been to until today) but for anyone else that has ever felt the same, I'd say just get out there and do it! The heli community are totally supportive (and probably watching someone else anyhow!) and non-judgemental.

Thanks to everyone at MK flyin today, particularly the organisers - What a beautiful event! Wish I could be there tomorrow.

well, needed my fix today before I fly out to Jamaica to get some tan and relax from that intimidating A certificate test

so flew my wing first and then 4 packs on the 550, 5 packs on the 700 and finally 6 packs on the 450 - was that confident that I even tried something new on the 450 ... well didn't go too bad for the first tic tocs I believe but will have a look at those when I return ... enjoy the sun guys I heard it will stay like this for a while .. if now, I'll try to carry some with me on my return

Sure did, 2 batts on the 600 hovering still being used to it and 4 on the mini titan sports 450, tightening up the high lazy 8s into figure 8s and nose in :-)

Just came home sweating after flying 4 packs on the 6hv and it was worth it. The light breeze helps with the heat. Need to buy some more sun cream as I am running low and using my kids sunscreen.

Embarrasingly no. Took the 700 out this lunch, went to connect the flight packs... Bugger... No series cable for the packs.. grrrr

Flew a total of 4 batts before climbing back into air-con cooled car & drove home. 28C just aint funny! Daft thing I've played 3 tennis matches in the last 10 days & the lowest temp was 24C & it didn't phase me at all (did drink around 5litres of water during each of them though & finish with a cold shower though)

YES! Redicovered my MCPX... I hadn't flown it for about 4 months and the last time I flew it I was just hovering. Then I got a 450 and then a 550 and the poor little MCPX didn't get a look in but today I couldn't get to my normal flying field to fly the bigger helis so I dusted off the MCPX in the garden. I can now fly it properly and I love it. Tried loads of moves and crashed a lot... just picked up and flew again. I must have crashed 20 times and still the little gem kept going. Finally, on my last battery, it gave up. I must have broken something on the board I think.

So, off to get a MCPX BL next week! Don't forget the micros... they can be great fun.

Yep, 4 tanks through my 700 trying to get my head round round inverted circuits and 4 tanks through my n5. starting to wish i never split my other n5 as im thinking of trying fbl so would of been nice to have both fb and fbl as the n5 flys so straight its a pleasure to fly!

Two batteries through my 700e early evening. I did go up to the flying field earlier planning to fly for a few hours but it was too windy, was still windy at 7pm but just got on with it. Also soldered a new balance plug onto one of my 6s packs having damaged it, sort of felt like I was doing bomb disposal!

Interesting day at Frontier today. Just did a lot of orientation work which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Felt a bit dirty, Dean let me loose on his 600 Nitro which was Superb!! At least I didn't have to clean it lol) I haven't flown a nitro in 3 years (since my old Velo) and yes it was a little under powered (os50) but it felt Great!!
Kinda wished I had my Velo again lol

Yeap. Some how I ended up setting up and flying a plank?!?! A friend of a friend bought a F27 Stryker, knowing I had RC experience I ended up setting it up and doing the maiden. I quickly showed him that it's not really a model for somebody who has never flown an RC model before! Apart from crashing it twice due to me messing up the elevon mixing, all went well. It's been 11 years since I flew a plank but it all came flooding back, loops, rolls, inverted, stall turns all in the first flight, its so simple compared to helis, can't handle the wind like a heli though. I actually really enjoyed it......

Couldnt believe how cheap it all was £14 lipos, £18 for a main frame spare. Might have to get one, blasphemy I know



I did also put 2 flights on the Goblin to bring back the sanity.
