No crashes today either heli or plank, hang on that's because its raining and I haven't been. Just remembered crashed the X4 into the dog but no damage.
Had a really nice day today, considering there was potential to get pee'd on, managed to visit both of my clubs and had a bunch of flights with the N5 at both. Skies were a bit gray which made orientation a bit tricky at times, and got a text from the wife, saying "don't rush back, the grandparents having taken the kids out"... sweet
The Newton Abbot boys were out both yesterday and today, was absolutely bloody freezing both days. Saturday was clear blue skies but today it was dodge the showers. Everything came back in one piece for all of us as well.
Heres one of Chris Newby ****ing about as usual...lol
After a bit of a frustrating fly yesterday (20mph gusts on a windy day is possibly a little far outside of my comfort zone, and I only managed p!ss poor circuits and the occasional stall turn) I went out again this afternoon. Flying on my own, but that wasn't a problem as I only got out at half three, so a swift four flights was all I would fit in anyway.
Well, it seems that a nasty weather day does great things for ones flying! The wind was just a breeze today, slightly overcast to say the least, but I had what is definitely my best flight in real life so far!
Happy, eye-level skid circuits in both directions, controlled, smooth. Backwards circuits, also smooth (first time IRL, but perfect proof of the validity of spending the last five days flying only backwards in Phoenix!) and controlled. Hover piros, 10 secs per rotation, in a nice small area. 180 and 540 stall turns, two rolls on forward flight, knife edge piros in both directions, inverted level passes, loops, loops with half piro at top to backward flight exit, backward flight stall turn, inverted flight stall turn, 4 or 5 sketchy tictocs, inverted hover, mini rainbows. . . In one flight! I can't believe how chuffed I am!
Can't wait till the next flying day! (Eyeing up the weather for the week to come - not looking great. . .)
A wonderful half hour anyhow. Must buy more lipos. Four is not enough. (Or I need to find a club with electricity!) I'm constantly looking up at the injured 450 on a shelf, considering repairing it with a FBL head and beastx, but ever time I consider it I decide that my money is better spent on lipos for the Logo. It's just annoying that I have 6 packs waiting for the 450. Tempted to sell up the Trex and spend the proceeds on Logo lipos. . .
I always seem to bin my 450 3 or 4 flights after getting it back up in the air , still I share the lipos with my starter, and a couple of planks, so its not all bad

I'm resisting suggesting that my 450 could be for sale, as I don't want to hijack the thread. And it's not, yet. . . If I could go back the three and a half months to when I bought it, I would tell myself not to bother, save up a bit whilst keeping going with the mcpx, and just get the Logo. It has changed the way I have been learning.
No, but some twat in a Volvo 4x4 drove into the back of my car this morning!!!. It's quite possible the insurance will write it off. The boot is bent & the body under neath is very twisted & it looks as if it's the best part of a new back end for a twisted bit of metal. Nothing lines up any more & the boot over laps the body where it's suppose to sit inline with an even gap. It's perfectly driveable but it's screwed my whole day up. It's going to cost a fortune having it repaired at Scothall. I wont let his insurance send it to a non BMW specialist as i had massive issues with a Suzuki body shop repairing my Audio spraying it a shade of metalic purple instead of a blue/green & with huge runs & sags so i got an Audi specialist to correct it at their expense. Oh & it felt like a lorry went into the back of me because of the size & weight of the Volvo.
