I flew yesterday but it was really cold and very windy. First thing was to try a different setting on the BeastX on my 500 and I think that was a success, it seemed to feel better and I didn't see the bad habits that annoyed me before.
The 2nd goal was to maiden the Rave ENV. This was actually the 2nd attempt at a maiden flight because the first time, some months ago, the motor decided to self-destruct. So this time it has a new motor (Scorpion 4035/450) and a Castle ICE2 ESC because the Hobbywing 120HV I had before just had too abrupt start-up and after lots of reading I saw no solution to that.
Unfortunately the 2nd maiden did not go smoothly. The motor and ESC were fine but on the first flight as I flipped back out of idle-up I had a sudden power drop and thought it was going in, then it actually touched the ground and suddenly regained power and I was able to nurse it back and land. I thought maybe a LiPo cell had gone bad or something. The LiPos checked out OK though.
Next flight I put in a fresh pair of packs and just hovered, flipping between the flight modes and everything worked as it should. Soooo, I put in another pair of packs and took it up again and all seemed fine then suddenly it started to feel extremely mushy and then pulled hard to the right on its own, I had to use full left stick to keep it level and push hard to get the nose down and bring it back upwind. I thought it was going in but I managed to get it back under control and landed imediately.
So I now think it was an RX power issue and my first suspect is one of the aileron servos being faulty and drawing down the voltage on the whole system. I have to find the problem and be absolutely certain or I'll have no choice but to swap out all the electrics. I think it must be either a servo, the RX itself, the regulator or the RX LiPo. So I have to put my Sherlock Holmes hat on and solve the mystery. I'm just thankful and lucky to have brought it home in one piece.

Flew yesterday, very windy and found out exactly what happens when a 130x and a 300x collide in mid air
Ironically me and a mate decided to go to a big field instead of the garden to fly as there was more room, I was 2 mins in to the first battery and doing a circuit, my mate was about 15 mtrs behind me testing his 130x after a gear replacement, next thing I know a little green blob comes whizzing out of nowhere and collided with my 300, had no idea he had finished testing everything and was now flying, he thought I had seen him and was mucking about and was going to turn. I didn't have a chance to react, bits of the solar film from my blades and bits from both helicopters went flying in all directions and then both hit terra firma with a thud... The 130x came off surprisingly well just boom, torque tube, canopy and main gear, mine on the otherhand blades, canopy, mainshaft, main gear, feathering shaft, blade grips, follower arms, swash, fbl links, servo links and rotor head, I would have thought the 300 would cause more damage to the 130 than it actually did.
Luckily I had all the spares to fix mine just need to get it all setup again grrBlade mSRX

Took the logo 500 out yesterday for a very gusty four flights at Cuffley MFC. Windy days are not very enjoyable, but i see them as great practice - after a few days of windy flights, everything seems so much easier on a calm day.
Next time i fly the logo it will be swinging 600 blades! Woop!Raptor G4 - Radix 690s, OS 91HZ, Spartan Vortex v3, MKS HV servos, OptiFuel 20%
