Did YOU fly today??

Squeezed in another 5 flights on the 500 today at the field. The wind was a little off putting but it kept me on my toes. Managed a good few inverted forward flights and even started to turn before my thumbs forgot what to do! A quick flip and I regained my orientation. I also got to watch "the lucky one" forza put his 500 through its paces.

Lucky enough to work locally yesterday and today so in my 'lunch break' I had 3 yesterday dodging the rain, at least till the last 2 minutes of the last flight.

Today I got 4 in. First flight was great but on the second one (the heli Gods must have been smiling on me today) I took off, tail stand, into piroflip and the heli spazzed out. I took no time at all on the throttle cut and managed some kind of control to lightly ditch it in some soft grass (just past the tarmac path and the mound of dried earth and the 5 ft bushes lol).

Turns out that one of the aileron servo screws had backed out and just enough for the arm to slide on the output shaft despite the fact that I used locktite on these screws I couldn't believe my bad/ good luck. Only damage was a snapped canopy post grub screw and a slighly worse crack on the already cracked canopy but thankfully still serviceable.

Continued on with the last 2 flights that Rich kindly recorded for me with some first attempts at the elevator slapper which was not so easy without a canopy and when the wind is gusting directly at you but was pleased with the outcome and have to say I love this heli more and more with each flight.

Edit: Just for you Don I was flying about 12ish feet (ok 12 miles) away for some of the last flight so you hopefully won't need to get you bifocals out :-P

Bit blustery today but got four flights in. Couple of gentle ones on the 550sx, then a maiden followed by a break in flight on the G570. The Trex unbound itself between the house and the field for some reason, and daft bollicks here forgot his bind plug Doh! Otherwise it would have been five flights today. Nice enjoyable afternoon in all.

No flights during this time as the weather is pretty hot. It reached 43 degrees Celsius the other day.
Time for complete maintenance and a slow build

Only 3 flights tonight, 2 on the 480Xxtreme and 1 on the 550SX, then it got a little nippy, brrrrrrr!

I got 8 flights in between my logo and goblin today.
Had a few really good flights this morning with my logo and everything's becoming a lot smoother, but this afternoon it was like I hadn't picked up a Heli in years. But that's how it goes. Here's a couple of pics

Had another 5 lights on the 500 this afternoon and 3 on the Goblin. Today was spent practising but then Forza made me do some maneuvers and string them together! I'm glad he did it made a great days flying and I feel like I have progressed a lot. This video is one of the better ones. I had plenty of "dumb thumb" moments.

Yeah had 5 packs for the Rex 550 and 3 for the 600sx, but the 600sx has a bit of an issue with slight tail wag and very slow responses, the Rex felt sluggish too, but num nuts here forgot the laptop, so only one pack flown on the 600 and I did just the 4 on the 550. Looks like I've got some tuning to do before the weekend [emoji17]

Had two packs to maiden my 500x. Still a beginner but couldn't believe the difference between the 500x and my 4503D. So much power and so stable. Need more packs now.

Where I fly sometimes is a large space and part of it is shared by a freeflight club. Only today they decided to setup base camp just 60-70 meters or so beyond the runway, which is right where I'd be flying to practise the 'big air' stuff. So I had to settle for small air instead. But still such a nice sunny day and the forecast for the rest of the week doesn't look promising so I had to get out there. Tried to get someone to take a few pics but they're all zoomed way out, miles away!
